Phoenix Wright producer OBJECTS to non-DS sequels
Have you ever played an Ace Attorney game and thought to yourself, "Man, this would be so much better if it wasn't on the DS"? Of course you haven't, because that would be idiotic and you're not an idiot. Are you? If you are, then allow Capcom to dash your hopes of seeing Wright on the Wii, PS3 or 360. "Right now, we have no plans to make ports for any other hardware," explains producer Motohide Eshiro. "It’s not that we don’t like other hardware and that we don’t want to do it. It’s just it was original made for handhelds, it was made to be played on the go, and also the interface we created the game, especially for Ace Attorney Investigations, uses the touch screen and we want people to interact with that. You can’t replicate that on Xbox Live. For us, the DS seems like the most natural fit." I really couldn't imagine playing Phoenix Wright on a home console, actually. Sometimes tells me it would lose a little of its charm if it went all Hi-Def. Tags:#Phoenix Wright Did you know? Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I can't see myself playing this on a console either. Wasn't Harvey Birdman a similar sort of game and i remember just really wanting that on my DS. Phoenix Wright is the perfect 'before-bed' game. Maybe he can convince the publisher to re-print the first game. I can't track down a normally priced copy lately. Yeah the games works on the DS and although they probably could redesign the games to work on other consoles they alreadly had GBA games and the reason they went to DS in the first place was because they thought it would work better. Why change it if it's the best it can be? Maybe if I could play it on the Wii with waggle-controlled finger pointing. Other than that, the DS suits it perfectly. Excellent. I love exclusives, because that means the games will be optimised for the system you are playing it on. I always thought of the possibility of a Wii version, but all that waggle wouldn't make it any better. Maybe investigations are spiced up, and that Wii Speak thing to shout at people, but there's nothing wrong with leaving it on the DS. Weren't the original games on the GBA in Japan? I don't see how that offers any functional advantage over XBLA.
But still, I don't desire it anywhere else. I would like to see it on Iphone, just because that is easier to use. I would hate it on anything else. For me it's not only the touch controls, I also prefer the pixelated visuals. I don't really like seeing the outside of game art so much. 8:00 PM on 05.15.2013 Capcom explains digital-only Ace Attorney: Dual DestiniesWhen Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies leaves Japan this fall, it'll be available exclusively through the 3DS eShop.
