Fans of Trauma Center saw Lifesigns as a direct rip off, although after playing the two games I can say that they aren't quite the same thing. On the other hand, Capcom's new Phoenix Wright spinoff, Gyakuten Kenji vs Gyakuten Saiban (Perfect Prosecutor), comes with the distinguished Capcom pedigree proudly stamped on its breast.
From what we can ascertain from the new scan that recently popped up in Famitsu, Perfect Prosecutor places you in the role of the prosecutor and has you after familar faces such as Miles Edgeworth and Dick Gumshoe (which might be the greatest names for supporting chararcters in a game ever.) Edgeworth seems to be combing crime scenes for possible missed evidence. Also, new detective mechanics will be introduced, which ought to please many a fan of the original series.
No word on price or release date yet, but as soon as more info comes down the pipeline we will send it directly to your feeding tube for mass consumption. I love the DS focus on weird nerdy subsects lately like crime drama and medical emergency. Obviously its going over well with American and Japanese fans alike, so here's to hoping we get drenched in quirky titles in the next few years.

"NEW

I can dream... I can dream...
I want a game on making perfect deli sandwiches. Or cow milking. Or working the stacks at libraries. Or being a French maid/ detective. Or raising cute baby birds. Or working at a zoo. Or being a reporter for a wacky news organization. Or being a diplomat for Iraq. Or hovercraft combating. Or snapping pctures of evil ghosts.
Oh. Wait.
But I hope they'll continue the Ace Attorney series as well...
Voila'
I'm excited for this. It was fun getting to play as Edgeworth in Trials and Tribulations, it'll be fun to see a whole game from his side of the casework.
And Lifesigns CAN'T be a ripoff of Trauma Center. Lifesigns was not only out first in Japan, but also the second game in a series!
This seems to be an interesting spin on the Ace Attorney formula, though I hope they keep going with Apollo Justice and other AA games.
Edgeworth = <3
You realize these characters have been around since the first Phoenix Wright game, right? It just doesn't come across that way.
This will be another game I add to my library. I wonder if the Japanese version will have full English support like the previous entries in the Ace Attorney series. Also, this game should be much easier as the Japanese legal system makes it notoriously easy to obtain judgments.
I know it's not strictly based on any real legal system; it would be the most absurd system anywhere. However, the game does draw on a lot of aspects of the Japanese legal system and blows them out to comical proportions. Also, I was just kidding around.
DO WANT!
I'm pretty sure all of the Ace Attorney games have been import-friendly so far. The Japanese versions have had full English support. It's odd, but welcome.
I don't think Apollo Justice was import friendly. I think that was the first one to have just Japanese text because it was the first DS specific ace attorney game so who knows if that's the beginning of a new trend for the attorney series.
Ah, I didn't import Apollo. Seems like that's a good thing.
