Phoenix and Ingrid may still come to Tatsunoko Vs Capcom photo

In a recent interview with Ryota Niitsuma, the producer of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, I learned that Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney) and Ingrid (Capcom Fighting Evolution) still may weasel their way into Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. According to Niitsuma-san, it will be in part up to Nintendo if these character are made available via DLC.

Since the advent of the Wii's "SD Card memory solution", a few developers have gone forward and applied DLC for Wii games, with Guitar Hero being a major stand-out. I wasn't aware that Nintendo needed to give their blessing before this was made possible. I wonder how often they've already blocked DLC from being released?

Nintendo, if you want to do something about your image with hardcore gamers, let Capcom do whatever they want with Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. It's one of the few games to come out for the Wii that actually has some strictly PS3/360 fans wanting your console. Considering how much a lot of those people hate (not dislike, but hate) the Wii, that's saying a lot.

Stick around for the full interview, which should be posted later today.

Why would anyone "hate" a console? It's just a hunk of plastic and circuit boards.

People "hate" a console because they're idiots.

Does this mean the Samurai Pizza Cats could still make an appearance. I hope so.

That would be funny as hell to see them on that game.

I would love to see Phoenix Wright on there that would rock. Also Guy from the Alpha series cause my friend love that character

I mentioned this somewhere else before, but has ANY fighting game this generation come out with DLC characters that weren't already on the disc. These developers keep mentioning them as possibilites but then they just release new versions on disc instead.

That would be awesome and all, but I don't think TvC was built with DLC in mind. I'd put my bets more on seeing them in a sequel than as DLC for a game that probably doesn't even have a store.

Shit, I hate DLC. Call me old fashioned, but I hate spending money on a game I already bought. And the sad thing is, I would buy DLC for Phoenix Wright.

If they released DLC with the Pizza Cats, I would most certainly get it. I had completely forgotten how awesome Samurai Pizza Cats are.

If Phoenix Wright is added to the TvC roster I will buy the game even though I'm more than broke right now. If not, it will have to wait.

Nintendo really needs to loosen up when it comes to online and DLC.

Considering how much content Square-Enix released for My Life as a King/Darklord, I highly doubt that execs at Nintendo are blocking the release of more fighters for TvC.

I think LK4O4 has it right - the game was likely not built with DLC "hooks," so to speak.

I agree with the first two comments.

Also, I just finished Phoenix Wright for the first time. I want him in this game now.

Oh, boy! I hope this comes to be. It would make me sooo happy.

@Shael: Dude, just stop. Niitsuma said that they'd have to rebuild the game from scratch for PS3/360, which would be too much.

I don't hate the Wii.

I hate Nintendo of America. They've made idiotic move after idiotic move. Preventing TvC from getting DLC would be their MO.

The difference between this game and just about every other Wii game that supports DLC is that the games that sport it already have a feature that allows people to add things.

I question if Ryota was aware of this or not. If they decide to charge for such content, the game would need a sticker swap for the orange "Pay&play" on the box too..

I want it to happen of course.

This foolish fool is not talented enough to make a foolish enough case for this foolishly foolish contest.this steam thing was really making me believe that there was something weird going on in Manhattan's underground world. It really looks like there are a vmware training whole lot of steam and heat under your feet that need to find a way out... which is not very reassuring if you want to know what I think.More than 100 miles of mains and service pipes make up the Con Edison steam system.
