Following our earlier footage from The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass, we bring you the above trailer for the Japanese incarnation of a title whose name I continually mispronounce as Scooby Doo and the Case of the Phantom Hookshot. As it turns out, the mysterious hookshot is actually Old Man Witherspoon, and according to his sworn statement, he would have gotten away with it if it weren't for that stupid sprite screaming "Hey! Listen!" every five minutes.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Am I to understand that you get to play as that scary knight-thing? Also, controlling the boomerang with the stylus looks like fun.
Seriously, if the only way I can play this game is by placing my DS on a desk and hovering my face over it, I won't be a happy cat.
I'm relatively sure it won't. I mean, how exactly would you control the boomerang with the d-pad? Ala Okami, using it to draw onscreen? Doubt it. If nintendo does implement a standard control scheme, you're going to hate it, because it will require you to use the stylus for things like, oh, the boomerang, and you're going to have to switch back and forth. Part of the lure of this game is to get away from the standard control configuration. I particularly think that the stylus commands are going to be an awesome way to interact with this game. It's also fair to note that FFIII was a control pad game with touch screen functionality added, not a touch-screen game with d-pad functionality added. If you're not excited about the touch screen controls, you should probably just get something else instead, because if an alternative is provided, you're probably not going to like it much.
