PGR 4 and F.E.A.R. Files: Extraction point demos hit Xbox Live photo

Fancy that -- a Tuesday morning Xbox Live double feature! Demos for Project Gotham Racing 4 and F.E.A.R Files: Extraction Point have hit the Xbox Live Marketplace this morning, both of which should give you something to do this morning instead of eating breakfast.

The Project Gotham Racing 4 demo was a long time coming; we reported on it being done nearly a month ago. Way to wait until the last minute, guys -- trying to hide something? Why don't you guys download and play the 1.27GB demo and tell us.

F.E.A.R Files: Extraction Point, on the other hand, has nothing to hide -- it's just dark because it's supposed to be scary. The 585 MB demo is a slice of the upcoming F.E.A.R. Files package, which is a combination of F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point with the brand new F.E.A.R.: Perseus Mandate. Those looking for some new content will have to wait for the game to ship on November 6 -- the demo is set within the events of Extraction Point (which has been available on the PC for close to a year).

I'm just playing through the first F.E.A.R. no thanks to GameFly. I'm about 2 hours in and really not that impressed. It's seriously average in every sense of the word. Should I care about this new game(s) coming out?

Plus, I am REALLY confused about how the F.E.A.R. sequels are being handled. I saw on IGN the sequel was called Project Origin. It made no mention of these games. What is up? This confusion makes me want to play none of these titles.

please explain FEAR.

is Fear Files the original game WITH the add-ons
that were only released for the PC?

or just a disc with the add-on missions?

or a sequel?

so would it be neccesary for me to buy
the original Fear?

So is Extraction Point any good? I know it's not Monolith who made that expansion (think it was Gearbox).

that shoop is so funny

neither of these demos excite me... FEAR was ok, but nothing new or special. I hate racing games, except Burnout

Finally, another game besides motoGP with bikes.

Fears pretty cool, first level of the first game scared the shit out of me.

@ 908peruvian:

The F.E.A.R. Files game is just Extraction Point (the expansion pack for F.E.A.R.) and the stand-alone expansion Perseus Mandate. Both of the expansions are produced by Vivendi and developed by TimeGate Studios. Prior experience with F.E.A.R. will be required for Extraction Point because it begins where the original F.E.A.R. leaves off. However, since Perseus Mandate is a stand-alone story no previous experience with F.E.A.R. would be required.

What a fucking mess!

FEAR was sucky. It looked like Doom for the XBOX.The gunplay felt so bad after playing Halo and Call of Duty.

PGR 4 is pretty fucking awesome. I was actually entertained by it.
