Peter Moore brings quotes about the Wii on Easter photo

EA Sports's Peter Moore is a cool dude, not like that damn Easter Bunny who threw my dog in a wood chipper. Vengeance shall be mine, Bunny. Moore, unlike the evil Easter Bunny who spews lies, has laid down a bit of good news recently. Speaking at the recent MI6 conference Moore said that EA has finally learned their lesson about porting down games from the 360 or PS3 to the Wii.

"You simply can’t take what you’re doing on the PS3 and Xbox and port -- that's a dirty word -- down to the Wii,” he said, following that up with a few comments about how EA has learned their lesson and will be developing Wii games from the ground up from now on. It took them long enough, but I guess completing the race, despite being about a year or so behind every consumer, is something to be happy about.

Moore also gave me a few tips about the whereabouts of the Easter Bunny. I'm headed over to the bad side of town to scope out a few joints where the guy likes to lay low when he's not breaking into people's homes and leaving stuff.

While your in the bad side of town, could you also see if you can find Santa? He left me a 32X one year and it wrecked my copy of Eternal Champions, it would be much appreciated.

Well, DUH! It doesn't have anywhere near the horsepower or graphics capability, so it's incredibly stupid to take rich, detailed games that are made for the 360/PS3 and try to port them down to the Wii.

Hell, a lot of PC gamers who've dealt with the plethora of games that suffer from "consolitis" will be able to attest to that! (Granted, in that case it's porting from a weaker console to a PC, but it's still the same idea.)

That's true. It would be like porting from the PS3 to PS2.

Nice of him to say that. Also nice to let us know that EA has learned its lesson.
Now we just have to hope that will indeed stop with the ports. What he's actually saying is that EA is "striving" to correct this mistake. But if they're making money on the current method I think it's unlikely they'll be giving it a complete overhaul (anytime soon in any case).

How the heck do you surgarcoat "We're dumbing down 360/PS3 games so it can play on the Wii"?

Remind me whether Chop 'Til You Drop was a downport or a remake? I forget which.

Oh c'mon man! If Peter "Man cat" Moore knew the whereabouts of the Easter he would have already eaten it.
