Perverts Rejoice: Princess Maker 5 disturbs its way onto the PSP photo

According to a listing found by PSPHyper on Japanese retail website Rakuten, Princess Maker 5 Portable is set to release in Japan on September 25. Princess Maker 5 Portable is the PSP rendition of the original Princess Maker 5 that hit the PS2 in Japan last year. It may be safe to assume that this PSP title will probably not hit outside of the country after the very understandable issues with the localization of Princess Maker 2.

Princess Maker 5 for the PS2 was a noted adjustment in the series, as it allowed players to finally be able to schedule their women on a weekly timeline, instead of that pesky monthly one. It also featured better options on telling the budding princess what to think and do. If you’re a bit lost, don’t feel bad. The game really snags on our societal norms. The point of the entire series is to usher a young girl into womanhood by controlling her every behavior. In this regard, it is a bit of a simulator and strategy game.

If there is one thing I have always wanted to do with my new PSP, it’s teach a girl how to be a woman. Seriously, what the hell? Judging from the selection of artwork also available from Rakuten, there might be more to this title than meets the eye, and frankly, that scares me.

"Teach a girl how to be a woman."

That's what they say in real life too. They should have called it "Ultra Lolicon Doki Doki Penis Explosion Hyper Blast EX 5 Portable".

No, that stuff is only on the DS.

And bah, this is tame.

I don't understand how they get the green light for some of this crap. Are they really selling titles like this en mass?

This is some seriously fucked up shit, even implied pedophila is seriously wrong, I mean what kind of twisted bastards make these games, and why he hell do they get greenlighted.

Or maybe it's meant as a girl game? You know to be played by girls. There are some of those in Japan, I think.

I'm going to assume that this game only has one level and it's a kitchen.

^^^ That, unless the 'artwork' suggests otherwise.

I remember playing the second one and I can honestly say I have no idea who these games are made for. There wasn't anything overly disturbing in it (in comparison to every other game from Japan like this) leaving out the perverts, doing the rpg parts ended up turning the girl into a violent psychotic (then why did you put that in the game?) and the rest of the game is like using a spreadsheet program. So I don't know, made for accountants who thought The Sims required too much interaction?

I should note though, it has those fucked in the head aspects that keep it from being what would be considered normal to non-weirdos. However I've long since come to the conclusion that everything that is made specifically for Japan has at least one fucked in the head aspect, but it's certainly not in the "Super Tentacle Rapefest Busride Molest Bonus Number 1" territory that makes me loathe the country.

I played Princess Maker 2, and I don't remember seeing any pedophilia or anything bad. I can always safely assume the Japanese between 2 and 5 brought it to dizzying heights of fucked up-ness, taking it to the next level each sequel, though. In PM2 they actively scolded you and made you feel like shit if you fucked up and your daughter ended up being a streetwalker or pirate or something. The two times I played through it both times I made a criminal. :'(

Princess Maker 2 has an unlockable dress called the "Undress." Guess what it does?

Aside from that it's pretty tame. It is kinda funny to send your adopted daughter wandering around in the desert without any clothes, though.

You can also marry your adopted daughter in one of the endings.

Meh.... Its not as offensive as it sounds.

I've played through PM2 and seen PM3. (This was in elementary school and I say it was a very safe game so to speak.)

Its basically a fantasy version of a fatherhood simulator.

Main goal is to make her marry the prince. Which I never accomplished. Seemed lame just to marry out my daughter to a prince.

I believe the several time I've replayed the game I made her into a Poet, Writer, Adventurer, and the Lord of Darkness.

Lord of Darkness!

Anyways I've later learned that if you delete a file that has the clothing, the game will recognize the clothing but with out the images So its not an option more of an modification. Though its easy as hell.

3 was even tamer.

That said...

Text based games with some exploration (in PM2 at least) is dull in 2008.

Seriously, people still buy games like this?

Kudos to those that have sampled this series and can give a fair opinion of them. While not my cup of tea, some mainly japanese people would do the opposite. There's clearly a market for this kind of game, otherwise it wouldn't be made.

Don't forget Duel Love on DS, its a very similar game in contrast.

I'll be sending it to their office, but they might not accept it. The box art is a tiny bit suggestive.
