being sofik is funner than it looks!
But if you like japanese that much...
Yay! All the extra stuff is exciting! YAY!
Okay then time-consuming JRPG, COME AT ME!!
Atlus has this port and the anime going now, and I really hope nobody in a high position is tempted to take away one of the few gay characters in gaming.
The english for both those games are good, get over your weaboo tendancies
Because their games are never successful enough for them to just make a new title after new title. Developers do like to stay in business. It's why Sting makes soooo many upgraded ports of their Dept. Heaven games. If they didn't, they wouldn't be making games at all.
First screens and picture of new character "Marie" !!!
My God, I didn't even think of that.
Anyway, this is pretty awesome news. As long as the gameplay isn't visual novel style like P3P was (which ended up being very disappointing compared to the original and FES), I'm on board all the way.
What with Devil Survivor Overclocked just out, Devil Survivor 2 out in February and SMT, Persona and Etrian Odyssey games still in the works for 3DS.
These ports don't just magically appear. They need to be ported over to the new systems, which takes code changes. They may need updated UI. There's all kinds of additional content - half as much audio again as the main game, all of which needs to be localized. There are new gameplay features, new conversations and all kinds of crap. It represents a tremendous amount of work.
Now, maybe that amount of work still doesn't seem worth it for you to invest in. That's totally fine! But just because it doesn't represent a worthwhile investment for YOU PERSONALLY, doesn't mean it's a bad idea. And just because the team spent a bunch of time improving on their work, doesn't mean that all the fun and enjoyment you got out of their original game, released YEARS ago, has now somehow been made worthless. That is CRAZY THINKING and you are CRAZY. IN THE BRAIN. ^_^
I know in America Atlus titles are niche, but I figured there must be a much larger audience in Japan given that they're making an anime, a fighting game, and an enhanced port all based off of the same game. And even if that is true, it shouldn't be the consumer's job to to bend over backwards (definitely not the right phrase, but I can't think of a tamer one that fits) to ensure they don't go out of business. I hope once they start developing Persona games for PS3/360 they just release this stuff as DLC, rather than continuing to make you buy a new game for a different platform.
Holy shit, you made me laugh and I actually agree with you on something! Glorious day this is. Persona brings everyone together. :) lmao
Ports to give new players a chance to play a game they might have missed out on but the work too port a game is not the same as actually designing the game in the first place, but they will sell it for full price. If this thing sells for full price it MUST take advantage of the system it's on and provide new content. If you want to port an old game fine but imagine if psone classics sold for $40?
Yeah, they should take a break, do something totally off the wall, like a puzzle game, one with talking sheep and killer babies or something.
Nah, that would never happen.
It's understandable if you have issues with their pricing scheme - it's always down to the consumer to decide what something is worth to them.
I don't personally have a big issue with this, though, given that:
*It's debuting on a new platform. What is the price for a Vita title anyway - not the same as it was for a new PS2 release years ago, is it?
*It's now supporting some kind of wifi / online functionality - features like that DO take a heck of a lot of coding and testing time and represent a pretty darn big addition to a single player game.
*There are numerous additional features and content that have been spelled out in the news releases; Atlus is well-known for making sure their fans feel taken care of and providing great incentives and pack-ins.
I don't really have an issue with people who don't consider it worth a purchase. I might not get it, myself, as I don't have very many occasions to bust out the portable, and I always forget where I am and what I'm doing in long games if I haven't played for a month or two. I'm more concerned with the mentality of early adopters who feel that developers should "reward them" by, I guess, not polishing their game, not adding new features, and not creating new ways for new people to learn about and enjoy the software. It baffles me sometimes.
