My body is ready to replay Persona 4 on the PlayStation Vita. I've played the other three Persona titles twice via re-releases, so why stop now?
This new version, Persona 4: The Golden, features a new town and beach that you can visit. Siliconera says that Yosuke suggests that the gang take a trip to the new locales. He would.
You'll take this trip on a moped! One of the new features of this release lets players get a moped license so that they can travel to new areas. It's also used in battle in a special attack. What the hell?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

I DEMAND RETRIBUTION!!
No, no it's not. Save for some slight changes to how social links are shown and the graphics, it's by far the best version. More boss fights, a harder difficulty mode, new social links, a new soundtrack for the other route, and refinements to the battle system make it the definitive version. I've played through each version, so I have enough experience in this to, at the very least, know what I'm talking about in terms of what was changed.
Seriously, when did I become such a Persona fanboy? A year ago it was nothing to me and now SMT is one of my favorite franchises ever..
As much as it makes me vomit to say this, I agree with Stealth. Persona 3 Portable was nowhere even close to as good as FES on the PS2.
I disagree. P3P had almost all the features of FES, save for the after story, and more. It even let you take the BS out of the fights by controlling the party.
To be fair, you listed what you liked about P3P, so I should list what I didn't:
* Inability to use any type of weapon like the PS2 allowed (Yet in Europe, the collector's art book is a copy/paste of the PS2 version, showing the main character using every weapon type)
* Dumbed-down Social Links -- You don't even have to think about your responses anymore, and chances are, they'll advance (I actually TRIED to make a Social Link reverse and I couldn't do it)
* Loss of character emotion -- Because of the new style of gameplay, you don't see any character reactions to anything because none of the characters actually move anymore
* Complete lack of The Answer -- The gameplay may have sucked, but the story is important, and it was well done
* The battle system was tweaked to handle damage and knock-downs more like Persona 4, which, in my opinion, was a bad thing
I think it's awesome that they made the menus much easier to navigate, and that you have full control over your party, but the Portable version wasn't nearly as good as FES as far as I'm concerned, which is actually the definitive version. More content, complete story, better graphics and overall, much more charm than the portable version. That being said, the Vita is powerful enough to blow Persona 4 wide open, so I'm all over this rerelease.
*Weapons didn't really matter to me, as the swords ended up being some of the most powerful weapons anyway. Also, using physical skills weilded better damage, anyway.
*Choices remained the same, but revering was removed (I think). It can still take forever if you suck at it, and results in more time wasted.
*VA was good enough to make up for the lack of movement, most of the time.
*The Answer was kinda "meh".
*Battle tweak was arguably a good thing. Counterbalanced the fact that you could control your party, and prevented you from just steam rolling the reaper with Odin, I think it was.
Usually, they're fine. But, even when you scan the bosses(making the AI aware what they are immune to), they can still screw up royally. Yukari has been known to use medicines when she still has enough SP to cast Mediarama(when set to heal/support). I have experience in this, my friend.(also, do check your PMs, man. I sent you something regarding the contest.)
You don't know its better than Person 4 PS2 until you play it....
Heh, okay, okay, I concede that the AI isn't all that bright SOMETIMES. If you constantly switch tactics, and press Triangle when you don't want them to do something so they just attack, you can get through. There were a couple mishaps, but I still never had any issues. Except for when Nyx charmed Yukari and she healed him.... *rage*
Honestly, though, I don't HATE P3P. I just like the PS2 version better. I even spent the time to import a new copy of P3P from Europe, so I could get the extra collector's stuff.
Anyway, I'll check my PMs now. :D
Atlus, let's make a deal, you make a PSN version which can do "transfarring" to Vita version, so I'll do all the grinding while lunch time, deal?
haven't played Persona 4 yet despite having a copy in my glass shelf.
