A European publisher should pick this up already. It'll end up like Catherine and Demon's Souls, where a huge number of the people who care will import the NA version and then 8 months later a random publisher will put out an EU release and see reduced sales.

alright so we have the anime series, the fighting game sequel, the remake/redo, can we now have a new persona or proper shin megami tensei game, please?
I'm sorry but the new opening does not hold a candle to the original PS2 opening. It feels too happy for the context of the game, while P4 is less dark than P3 it was still about a freaking murder case. Despite this, Rise is still hot though.
And I agree on the whole "make a new SMT game already" Preferably on a console please. By console I mean this gen not freaking next gen either.

Let's face the facts, Junk3t, Persona is not a spinoff anymore and it now has way more appeal for more types of gamers now. Shin Megami Tensei is a great hardcore RPG/monster collecting style game. But Persona has evolved into something more.
The student is now the Master.
As for opening intros, I actually preferred Persona 3 Portable more. I don't quite see how the styles clash at all. I loved the newer intro song as well.

We also got a new Devil Survivor recently, which is way closer to the roots of SMT. Persona has an always will be a spin-off series. It might be more popular than SMT but that's fine by me as it leaves the main series free to be what it is.
The Persona team doesn't even handle main series SMT and I still think there could stand to be a few more years before a new Persona main series entry. There are people for whatever reason that chose to skip P4 because they no longer had a PS2, after all.
We're getting Soul Hackers on 3DS, too. Its not main series SMT, either, but its the next best thing for the immediate future.

I want a new main entry in the series fot ps3. Nothing against Persona at all (just got into them recently, great. Started on 3:fes), but I started SMT with the triple d's and Nocturne (please put on psn) and its been awhile. Also port both survivors to vita on one cart. I'll buy a vita for those, p4p, p2 (on psn) and Disgaea 3 alone. Alright I was buying one anyway for the last three, but let's get the Survivors in more hands.
I like it. Obviously it could never top the original opening, but it has its own style. Shows they're not afraid of experimenting.
@Phil - I like how Atlus is doing it now. Mainstream stuff on PSP/Vita and the original/edgier SMT stuff on DS/3DS. I think its that way because Nintendo's stronger in the west and main series SMT or those titles more deeply influenced by it have more western influence.

@TSP: Ha, oops double D's not triple (gee, where's my head?). I agree Persona is its own thing. Very much a jrpgs in a smt wrapper and I love that. But I don't a see a reason we can't have a main smt due to that. I also don't thing the Survivors would be too bad to port. One of the screen was just enemy info/your team info. Tie that to a shoulder button to bring it ip and bam! I'm not a programmer though, so it sounds easy to me of course. Bottom line: give me more. More systems to play them on too. Plus the old ones on psn. I'm greedy.

I dunno, I still like P3 FES's opening the most, probably. Sure it's just cuts from the game like a bad AMV instead of an original animation, but you just can't beat Lotus Juice's insane lyrics. "Double up I did, more cheddar"? What the hell?

I don't really care for this opening either. However the new opening for Eternal Punishment is sexy.
I... don't like it. Feels too much like a 70's happy go lucky acid trip to match the themes and tone of the game IMO.

As for the song, it's not as good as "Reach Out To The Truth", which was the original P4 theme. This one is just super-relaxed, while the original was a raving ra-ra high-school-band-like jam.
