Persona 3 Portable's box and character art make my day photo

I'm easy. These few images are enough to make my day. When it comes to Persona 3, just knowing that it might eventually come my way in portable form makes my day. Seeing this cover art and a couple of screens makes the sun shine brighter. My vision seems clearer. Dog sh*t stinks less. McDonald's tastes a bit better. I'm a simple man like that.

Behold the new dual-gender P3P box art, just revealed for Japan (full image in our gallery below). Famitsu got the first look at the cover of the upcoming Atlus RPG, set to release in Japan on November 1st.  Looks great, doesn't it? I think Takeba is taking a back seat to the new female protaginist, though. I don't know how I feel about that yet.

In related news, Famitsu is hosting a P3P blog, and a recent entry by the game's character designer, Soejima Shigenori, reveals some great art of the newly updated cast. In his latest blog post, he said he had to fudge around a few times before he came up with a good female lead character. He also noted that the original design for the female character was simply a female version of the male character, same hair and all. In the end, I think Soejima did a great job.

Atlus, hurry up and localize this!

Will the female protagonist have a lesbian social link?

Then I might play as her. But with all the socializing and romancing, I feel like it'd be kind of weird to play Persona as a girl.

Also, it'd be pretty hot.

I really need to get in on this Persona thing. All I've heard is good things, but I keep putting it off because it's on last-gen consoles.

What would have been cooler is a complete version of P2 for PSP.

I could see a character swap in Links in regards to Male vs Female Social Links.

For example, Yoko swaps places with Kazushi, so you ultimately date Kazushi and befriend Yoko.

It's not without its holes, but seems like a sensible use of already implemented game play without causing an enormous amount of effort to create all new content.

The box art Aigis looks way too happy, and the female protagonist has the expression "Whose idea was it to bring me into this second-tier cash grab?!"

I'm still going to first day pre-order this sucker the moment it's localized.

I've always believed that Atlus abandoned a female protagonist line in part because they couldn't figure out how to not make her look like a total slut. I'm curious as to how they've remedied that conundrum.

I'm really excited about this even though I already own FES. I'm really hoping Atlus USA will localize it but I'll important if they don't. I'm just starting to learn Japanese though, so that'll be difficult.

The Persona game coming out this month is Persona 1, a somewhat-remake of the PSX game. It will be truer to the Japanese version than the localized PSX version, but if you're expecting it to be like Persona 3, you'll be disappointed. Persona's an awesome game, but it's more oldschool than the later ones.

Will never touch the blasphemous "Female Lead" campaign.
I'll play it original style only.

+ I can date Mitsuru as Minato.

SO EXCITED!

I wanna play as a girl. I think the streamlined system would be better for me too.

Personally, I was hoping to see Jack Frost milk the udders of a cash cow Persona.

Yes, please localize this soon so I can determine if I need to order new pants if you manage to align the proper voice actors for the new character.

Why is Shinji smiling in the topic picture. Shinji does not smile! That's like Chuck Norris smiling... it just doesn't happen.

Other than that, images and info are all awesomesauce.
