PS2 classic Persona 3: FES hits PSN tomorrow

4:00 PM on 04.09.2012

Persona 3 is still one of my favorite games of all-time. I've played it so many times now that it's bordering on crazy, but I may give it another go on my PS3 as it's being re-released as a PlayStation 2 Classic tomorrow on PSN.

Persona 3: FES comes to the PlayStation Network tomorrow for $10. That's like a bazillion hours of dungeon crawling, demon collecting and social linking. This is the whole enchilada, containing both The Journey (the original game) and The Answer, a standalone second adventure where you'll play as Aigis, solving a new mystery. Back in 2008 we gave it our full backing, and we still stand behind it as one of the best RPGs of the PS2 era. If you've missed it up until now, you should definitely jump on this tomorrow.

In celebration, I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon listening to Persona 3's "Iwatodai Dorm" rap on loop.

Oh, and Atlus? Nocturne. Do it. Don't argue with me. Just do it.

Some dances wanna put you in a trance,

Let's party, Let the boogie hit your body,

Move everybody, move that body,

make sure you don't hurt nobody,

I say hey hey hey,

Fueling the fire with a burning desire yeah,

get up off of that thing,

Dance and shake yo let's swing,

Come on girl let me rock the world

Destructoid Review: Persona 3: FES

More than half a year ago, Atlus' Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 was released, and its intriguing story and characters, high production values, and gun-to-head action had gamers dusting off their PlayStation 2s. We played it a...more

Review: Chariot

Local cooperative play is something that's been increasingly neglected in an age of videogames that pushes online connectivity seemingly first and foremost. It's ironic that titles like Destiny are the current benchmark ...more

Review: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

It's still tough to believe a fighting game based on the Persona series exists, let alone is any good, but Persona 4 Arena certainly came as a pleasant surprise. Atlus and Arc System Works are two distinctive studios kno...more

Review: Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc was an intelligent riff on the perils of high school -- you know, if you had thrown a murder mystery in between classes and the principal was a maniacal stuffed animal. Its sequel, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, takes a beleaguered trope and turns it on its head. This is one "trapped on a desert island" story that takes things to another level entirely.more
