Perfect Dark and Game Room get release dates photo

The long-awaited Xbox Live Arcade remake of Perfect Dark has finally been given a release date, with Microsoft confirming that fans can step back into the boots of Joanna Dark on March 17. This will pave the way for Xbox Live's Game Room, which will launch on March 24.

Both of these items are part of Microsoft's "House Party" promotion, which will run all throughout March. The offer includes one download for each of the month's four weeks and stars with Toy Soldiers, followed by Scrap Metal, Perfect Dark and then the Game Room. The two games nobody cares about will cost 1200 Microsoft Points each and PD costs 800, but Microsoft will refund 400 Points to everybody who downloads all four items.

That doesn't really sound worth it if you ask me, but oh well. Perfect Dark is worth a flutter, at least.

Toy Soldiers - 3 March

1200 MSP

Your army of antique toy soldiers battles it out across five unique maps, all with multiplayer potential. Deploy infantry, pilot zeppelins and fighter planes, or send in the cavalry...whatever it takes to earn victory in this action-packed strategy game.

Scrap Metal - 10 March

1200 MSP

Use rocket-launchers, flamethrowers and more dastardly tricks to ensure you finish first in more than 60 single-player missions. Or challenge friends to a Destruction Derby plus other superb multiplayer modes in split-screen or across Xbox LIVE.

Perfect Dark - 17 March

800 MSP

The celebrated action adventure from Rare, starring Joanna Dark in her landmark first mission. Newly 're-mastered' in high-definition and upgraded character models, you can play this classic shooter solo, 2-player split-screen or 8-player online.

Game Room, 24 March (Free download)

400 MSP dual-platform, 250 MSP single-platform, 40 MSP single play

More than 30 arcade classics in their original cabinets can be yours in your virtual game room. Couch Play mode lets you invite friends for two-player challenges at home, but the fun really takes off across Xbox LIVE with leaderboards to aim for.

PD is def worth that price for online play alone.

Also, this green background freaked me out on the comment page of this article. Xbox specific background? Nice, Niero.

I remeber buying the N64 memory upgrade (anyone remeber that) particularly for this and jet force gemini. Btw. Jet force needs a hd remake or a proper sequel like yesterday already!

So... if I buy the three actual games, Microsoft will give me 400 points just to download the Game Room (which is free)?

Awe-some.

I thought PD was going to be priced at 1200 MSP and I was definitely prepared to pay that. But at 800? Pfft. I'll buy TWO copies!

Definitely picking up Perfect Dark. The game pushed the limits of the N64 back in the day, but with the upgraded frame-rate and textures, it's going to rock.

"The celebrated action adventure from Rare, starring Joanna Dark in her landmark first mission."

Wasn't Perfect Dark Zero a prequel, making the first game far from her first mission?
