People not called Denis Dyack talk about Denis Dyack photo

Denis Dyack has done a good job of making himself more talked about than his videogame, and as a result has become a figure of fun and contempt in recent weeks. MTV Multiplayer requested an interview with Silicon Knights staff who were not Dyack for a change, although the first story to come from this interview are Stephen Totilo's three interview subjects talking about ... Denis Dyack.

Carman Dix, Art director of Too Human:
Underneath, Denis is still that boy that genuinely loves video games with a passion.

Henry Sterchi, Director of design of Too Human:
Denis is sincerely passionate about the quality of everything Silicon Knights does, and with that passion comes some of his outspokenness and desire to interact with the community. One of my favorite Denis stories is when we met to discuss Eternal Darkness when I was working at Nintendo. A few of us got together, went out for dinner, and then ended up at an arcade just playing games for hours while we talked about ideas. It was incredibly refreshing and exciting to see all of the passion he had about making games and still act like a gamer and have fun.

Steve Henifin, Audio director of Too Human:
One of the things I like about Denis is that he is a tenacious person and he takes risks. I respect him for that, because I’m the same way. I never give up, and if you don’t take risks you are never going to know your potential. I know that if it were not for Denis we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now, because SK wouldn’t exist.

Even when Will Wright and Hideo Kojima, two men who have truly earned their iconic status, release a videogame, we still talk about the game more than its creators. We know Will Wright is making Spore and we know Kojima made MGS, but we can talk about those games without the smug faces of their creators predominantly at the forefront of our minds. Denis Dyack, on the other hand, has made sure that he gets more coverage than his videogame. Perhaps he felt that he would promote the game in this way, but as I can see, he has only promoted himself. People wonder why I criticize Dyack so much, it's bullsh*t like that. Denis Dyack is pretty much Jade Raymond at this point, except it wasn't quite Raymond's fault that she was shamelessly made more famous than her game, and she's a bit more attractive.

Is it a coincidence that the words, Denis, Dyack, and Douche all start with the letter "D?" I think not.

Denis Dyack cries gum drops and sweats licorice. Denis Dyack's next game will be a complex merging of Martian poetry and Diablo. There will be loot drops but they will enrich your soul as opposed to your in game character. Denis Dyack is secretly every member of NeoGAF. His level of schizophrenia is currently unmeasurable on the Hertz-Caufield meter of schizophrenia measuring. Denis Dyack was so named because his mother knew he would one day grow up to be a real live superhero. Utterly disappointed by his dreams to be a game designer, she took her life tragically on his 30th birthday but was brought back to life by a robotic angel. Denis Dyack is set to go off at 8:15 PM on the 31st. There will be no survivors.

Thanks to this Dennis Dyack hype, I'm really interested in Too Human in a sick and wrong way. Luckily I don't own a 360, because otherwise I would have already bought it.

As annoying as he is, he is good for a laugh so long as you don't take him seriously.

I still think his likely cause of death will be drowning in his own ego soup though.

I like the guy, mostly because i think he has a passion for games. He says what he thinks and right or wrong its better to hear what people relly think rather than PR speak.

At least he will be off again in a few weeks, returning to the skies in his invisible flying castle until the next cycle begins in ten years.

Oh Dyack. Thank you for giving us basement-dwellers something to justify our inclination to act like self-righteous jackasses from behind the safety and anyonymity of our computer screens.

Oh, we'd be acting like d-bags one way or the other, but it's nice to have a semi-justifiable target. That way nobody will give us shit for it. See, being held accountable for acting like sub-human scum always makes me feel a bit uncomfortable, and nobody would give me shit if I jumped on the bandwagon and dragged you through the mud for being a little too passionate about your game, and way too involved with the community.

Thanks!

That's because when we think of Spore, the image of cocks are at the forefront of out minds :X

I want an interview with Denis now that the game is getting scores that aren't fantastic. He can be all "people just don't GET it" and we can all leave comments here about how stupid he is. It'll be great <3

The name Dyack always makes me think of mallards, since it looks like "duck" and "quack" all at once.

Don't you dare mention him in the same breath as Jade. Jade made a decent game, and didn't pathetically try to change people's minds when they said it was only good and not great. She also didn't hype her game up like ol' Deni is even still doing.
