Not enough is actually being kickstarted for me to comfortably support this. While other people abuse this too, it is called "Kickstarter" for a reason.

If it's not a joke, it's pretty insulting to the people who actually use kickstarter as a way to fund their projects. If PA just wants to remove ads, why not just have a PayPal-donate button on top, similar to what Wikipedia does now and then.

Also, for the people all high and mighty about Adblock: Maybe if websites didn't run ads that at times take advantage of security flaws in browsers and install malware, viruses, or other unwanted bullshit on my computer, I wouldn't be running Adblock all the damn time.
Getting rid of the stupid ads is just a nice side effect of making my web browsing experience more safe and secure.

Sorry, I love Penny Arcade, but they are a business. They have been for a long time. They have advertisers, they sell merchandise, books, toys and games of all sizes. Not to mention art work prints.
These people help fund charity and run a convention. I remember once one of them announced when they had bought the "Sultan", a $11K dollar hard wood gaming table. If they can afford to drop that much money on a table, they can afford to pay their own advertisers.
