Penny Arcade's Cardboard Tube Samurai a playable in Tekken 6 photo

The Twitter feed tekkenbob, the official feed for Tekken 6, dropped an interesting twitpic today. Along with a tweet mentioning that he "got a sneak peek at something I can't talk about yet" was the above picture. Who does that look like to you?

Gamertag Radio called it: it is Cardboard Tube Samurai, a recurring character from the web comic Penny Arcade. Mind you, this is not confirmed. We'll do our best to get something more concrete for you this weekend, but we're with GTR in guessing that they'll hold their cards close to their chests until this year's Penny Arcade Expo.

If this is legit, it's amazing that Penny Arcade has nudged their way into the Iron Fist Tournament. Nicely done, gents.

If anything PA just did a costume for Tekken 6 like CLAMP did, but still, that is fucking awesome!

Very cool. I'd think CTS would do better in SoulCaliber, but seeing as his swords are, well, cardboard, I can understand the Tekken shift.

Yeah, like Covah said, after looking at the hands, it definitely looks like a costume for Yoshimitsu.

Regardless, that's still pretty awesome.

Check out the hand though, it looks like Yoshimitsu's. It might just be a bonus costume, like the series is wont to have. If he was Yoshimitsu, though, he's missing his back wheel, so hopefully it's an original character. Soul Calibur seems like a better fit for the character, but what the hell, it's PA, I can't wait.

I'm surprised he's not in Soul Caliber seeing how he, you know, has Pac-Man on his outfit.

Definitely Yoshimitsu. CTS has the Yoshimitsu flag right behind him. Regardless, this is AWESOME. Say what you will about Penny Arcade, but those dudes are what's up.

Even an outfit sounds pretty nice. Though I'm sure by SC5, we can make our own CTS.

Here's hoping.

You are aware that Soul Caliber, Tekken and Pac Man are all owned by Namco, right?

This is pretty cool: Yoshimitsu is my favorite Tekken character of all time.

But, I'm still bummed that this game just looks like Tekken 5.5. I'll be getting KOF and Blazblue most likely.

But what if this sets a precedent? Would we want to see a Ctrl-Alt-Del Zeke cameo? Or something else?

Sure, if whatever developer wants to sell less copies of their game, that would be a great idea for them to put a CAD cameo.

They announced Tekken 6 back in 2006. Is Namco competing with Square Enix to see who can wait the longest to produce a game. (Duke Nukem doesn't count)

@BlackFreefall,

Tekken 6 is already out in arcades and has been for over a year now I think.

This version of the game, although it's called "Tekken 6" is actually going to be the arcade's "Tekkken 6: Bloodline Rebellion."

Namco essentially SKIPPED the T6 home release and is now releasing T6.5 on consoles.

I was listening to Giantbombcast and Jeff Gerstmann was ranting about how Namco is making it difficult for people who try to organize sites such as themselves, because he said he will not list "Tekken 6" as being under more than just the Arcade platform and he'll list "Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion" as Arcade/Ps3/360 instead, despite the box covers saying just "Tekken 6".

Ugh...This is worse than including Star Wars into SC.

At least the guy that draws the strip learned how to draw (slowly) over the years. It's a shame the dude (is that the fat, bald one?) that writes the "news" still is a pretentious hack.
