Peace, Bootcamp: Braid now available for Mac photo

Finally. Braid is now available for the Macintosh platform.

Earlier today, Hothead Games announced the title’s availability via their Mac-friendly digital distribution service, Greenhouse. It’s priced at $14.95 and from what we can tell by the press release, appears to be a straight-up port of title that many of you have been playing on Xbox LIVE Arcade and PC for the last two billion millennia.

We highly suggest you minimize Peggle for a few minutes and give Braid a spin. It’s certainly worth your time.

Native port or I'm not buying.

Exactly, I'm tired of getting cider ports for games.
The Sims 3 is disappointing, it's not a native port, so I'm not installing that crap on my mac.

I have it on Xbox but I wouldn't mind having it on my computer for during classes...I mean trips?

It's a native port... not Cider. I hope a publisher without DRM picks it up... currently the Greenhouse version has online activation... which isn't cool.

I'm a new Mac owner and I've never heard of Cider ports before. What's bad about them?

Johnny:

Cider is a development library that allows developers to port their games to the Mac. It's a wrapper library that translates Windows system calls to the equivalent Mac system calls. The reason why it sucks is because since it's not technically native (it's based on Wine), it can be very buggy and some of the more advanced graphics features are not supported.

Thanks aaronf, I'll keep an eye out for that.

Lucky I've got Bootcamp, but it would be nice to have a game or too on my OSX partition.

Just was telling a friend about how awesome this game is. He was sad face to know it wasn't on MAC yet. I make him happy now...in his pants.
