Quantcast

Who needs to be at PAX? We're bringing it to you! Disney is letting PAX Prime goers go hands on with its upcoming title TRON: Evolution, allowing them to get a taste of the game's free-running, combat, and the light cycle in action.

While this doesn't quite match playing it, we've got a video of the game in action for you to watch in the comfort of your chair. If you're standing, sit down. I can't imagine why you'd be standing up and reading this though, unless it's on your phone, and chances are you can't watch this video anyhow.

The demo at PAX is the same thing I played pre-E3, and while it showed promise (I had fun with the combat, based on Capoeira) , but need a bit of polishing. If you did attend PAX (or you're there now -- why are you reading this?), then let me know what you think of the game. It's out for PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 on December 7, a few weeks before the film, TRON: Legacy, hits theaters.

The animations look kinda wonky but the drive sequence looked pretty good. I can't say I'm looking forward to it but it doesn't look terrible compared to other licensed movie games.

Looks pretty Prince of Persia to me in that first section. This is a good thing.

I'm interested.

This looks way too jerky for me. The animations are horrible and the parkour/platforming just looks mindless. I'll need a demo to confirm my suspicions, but I'm pretty sure this is going to suck. Just give Tron back to Monolith.

Looks like a bad Spider-Man 2 with motorcycles. At any rate, I'll wait for the reviews before I make a decision.

Well color me interested! The animation definitely look off, but the combat looks fast paced and fun, the platforming looks like Prince of Persia 08' on speed, and the light cycle looks, well, awesome. If reviews are favorable, I may actually get this

Animations could be way better and the camera feels wonky, I hope they fix it because it actually looks very interesting.

To be blunt, that looked terrible. Combat looked like the first Spiderman movie tie-in (not good, incase you're wondering). And that grappling? What is this Uncharted 2000?? An FPS like Tron 2.0 would be sweet.

Eh, I don't think this video is doing the game justice. I played it on the show floor and the animations looked much smoother than what you see above.

I don't see myself running out and getting it but it looks promising, especially for a movie IP. Gotta say though I think like the FPS feeling of the tron 2.0 game and would more like to see something next gen with that

That looks like shit. Seriously, how did they managed to dull the colors of Tron like that? Instead of shit/dirt brown we now get dull gray?

Am I the only person who thinks the movie looks bad?

Disney has made some great movie-to-videogames but I just have a huge feeling of skepticism.

@Neroisonfire: Considering how little anyone has seen of the movie, I'd say any sort of judgement is pretty premature.
