The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai was a hyper-violent symphony of pain for those who attempted to take it on. At PAX Prime 2010, I had a chance to catch up with creator James Silva and talk about what players can expect to experience in the upcoming sequel, The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile.

I wasn't a fan on the first game; I could see what they were trying to do, and it worked to a degree, but there just wasn't enough variety in, well, anything, to justify the price tag. Enemies were all similar, the levels looked identical or were confusing to navigate and the moves you could pull; whilst cool; grew stale quickly - primarily because of the unbalanced difficulty.

I won't buy the sequel but it does sound like the developer recognizes some of the faults in the combat and the plot and is attempting to re-vamp the systems; which is a good thing.

I liked how the first game played but the murky, ugly graphic style really turned me off.

I bought The Dishwasher on a whim because my friend and I had a decent time of it when I played it at his house before I even had a 360.

Then I went about to play the story and while fun for a little while the difficulty and repetative nature of it made the game for me get old quick. Not a terrible game just kinda meh I suppose.

I love Dishwasher. So awesome, I didn't even notice it was balls hard until I tried to get the Nightmare achievement. I hope after this he tries to get Survival Crisis Z updated and thrown on XBLA that would be the shit.

Nice, looking forward to this. Enjoyed the first even with difficulty all over the place. Dig the art too. But don't know if it can beat shank, my current favorite 2d sidescroller. Oh Shank how I love thee.....
