I'm still a little unsure about the Scott Pilgrim movie. I love the creative team behind it, but seeing the comic's characters in live action just looks wrong. Just as a live-action Charlie Brown movie probably wouldn't work, this live-action Scott Pilgrim thing may not sit 100% well with me.
The Scott Pilgrim videogame, on the other hand? That's a lock, on basis of the creative team alone.
The game will follow the storyline of the comics, and will retain the same iconic character designs found there as well. The big news is, Paul Robertson is working on the game. We here at Destructoid have been semi-obsessed with Mr. Robertson's work for going on three years now, so to see him finally attached to a (hopefully) big-name game is incredibly exciting. Just watch these videos if you need proof that Paul Robertson is the perfect match for this game.
We don't know what console (or hopefully, consoles) the game is headed to yet, but that doesn't really matter. Even if this ends up being a Wonderswan Color exclusive, I'm buying it day one.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Now please, no PC release, what so ever, if you know what's good for you Ubi.

You can do that right now. Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter and Lock's Quest both feature Robertson's sprite work. The latter uses it extensively, too.
... And I'm a PC :(
The awesomeness of this news makes my head want to explode into tiny chunks this game looks so promisingly awesome!
I can love them if you tell me that I should.
I should have known, thanks!
I want this game fucking yesterday.
@Mortrialus: It is a graphic novel series wherein a 20-something guy has to defeat his girl-friend's seven evil ex-boyfriends in order to date her. The series is completely irreverent most of the time, great dialogue, tons of video game in-jokes (most of the bands are named after old video games) and just awesome action. I totally recommend.
@Brlito: the trailer was weird. Every second that Michael Cera was in it made me feel more and more nervous about the movie, but the rest of it made me feel better about the direction. I still think it (the movie) won't be anywhere close to worthy of the name.
Fuck, it already is the best movie game ever. Just from the few screenshots that exist.
@Brlito: By Kung-Pow, I hope you mean, Kung-Fu Hustle... cause, the trailer is nothing like Kung-Pow and everything like Kung-Fu Hustle... but that doesn't make sense cause that is a great movie... why wouldn't anyone want another movie like Kung-Fu Hustle?!
Also, on that second thing, (again going off of reports from the test screenings) the movie clocks in a bit over two hours, and after the material from the 3rd book mixes stuff up, and after that is a completely original climax written for the movie.
Kung Fu Hustle was like watching a manga made into a movie.
I'd imagine this'll be a DS game, because I doubt Ubi would want to release a movie-tie in on XBLA/PSN. Too bad, but at least it'll get me to finally do something with the DS.
No, no, no, chill. You don't HAVE to love them, that is what makes being subjective awesome.
I just like their energetic style in their tunes.
I'll keep y'all updated!
