The lack of Bowie here is a bit of a space oddity. I expect to see some ch-ch-changes on future posts, or I'll rebel...rebel.
I think they could have developed both games, but PA-guys didn't want to. Because they would probably be handed the "b-team", and they would rather discontinue the games rather than making a very bad ep 3. That's my theory at least.
But this is a shame, I never played the games, but it must be sad for those who invested a lot of time in the games.

My -wife- knows what Penny Arcade is, but the dev is dropping the project for the "Deathspank" IP? I'm pretty steeped in geek-culture, and I had to look that up.
I'm more than willing to accept the possibility that I'm not as tuned-in as I used to be, but this means that I'm either missing this huge cultural nerdcore

Booooooooooooooooooooo! Well, this sucks. This is my problem with episodic gaming, though I'm sure it's not an issue that comes up very often. Here I am, having bought and played the first two episodes, and now I'm stuck reading a comic for the conclusion. Hoo. Ray.

definitely a great couple games, pretty solid gameplay that just bled oldschool "adventure game" and had the classic PA humor to boot. Sad to see 3 won't be coming, but even sadder to admit I never finished 2.
thats a shame but at least they know and admit that they wouldn't be able to make another great PA game. i have hopes they will again some time in the future.
That sucks out loud. I loved those games and really wanted more. I appreciate them not wanting to crap out a sequel, though.
Kind of a bummer, but I've barely touched the second one after buying it on sale for $5 months ago. I'll just surprise myself one day and pretend it's a new release.
Damn, that does suck. I don't see why Hothead couldn't do DeathSpank and then once that releases, return to work on PAA: Episode 3. It'd be better than nothing, and it'd remind us of a certain other Episode 3 that takes forever to come out.

Those games were funny and surprisingly solid RPGs. I liked the first one better (it was harder), but they were really good games.

PappaDukes, you should probably go for it if you dig the Penny Arcade style of humor. It's more about the laughs than the plot, at least for me. Tons of good cursing and bizarre references, a cool Steampunk-y vibe, and a mediocre battle system. Overall, well worth $5-10 each if the two episodes are on sale again.
I don't think there's a serious, engrossing story to be left hanging, but I've only completed the first game. It had something to do with mimes and evil fruit fucking machines, if that tells you anything.

I was waiting all week for pax east so that I could hear that episode 3 was on it's way and this is what I get! I don't care if they are finishing it on the website,, its shit that they arent even finishing the goddamn series. Can't they get another publisher to do it? DAMMIT!!!!!!

They should just have Valve do the development for them, cause Valve is so awesome at releasing Episode 3s
I didn't like the battle system much and the humor wasn't enough to make me finish the first episode, let alone buy the second game. And that's coming from a long time fan of the comic strip.
