I hope the combat and menus are a little better in this, Dead Island was a decent game but it became incredibly frustrating towards the end mostly because of the controls.

Um... according to GamingExaminer, the gunplay's been toned down. Unless by "more greatly emphasized" you mean better rather than more.

Call me crazy but didn't the original have included voice chat? I played it with a few friends the first month of release, and I swear I remember it having an in game voice client, like cod, bf3, and others. Other than that this article is awesome! Looking forward to the sequel.

Purna FTW! Being part Koori myself I jumped at the chance to actually play as one in game, even though she sounded more like a Kiwi than a Koori.
Btw, I hope they've tightned up the gunplay rather than just added more of it as the original Dead Island was the only instance where bringing a knife to a gunfight was the right choice.

I think Dead Island was a pretty underrated game, I'm happy to see it was successful enough to warrant a follow up

Well, I don't really care what GameInformer says, I'm reporting what I heard. Especially because I took mental note of it due to my own personal feelings that they should phase it out together, which I mentioned in one of my recent articles.

Dead Island had voice chat fo' sho'. It was one of the most annoying things because it didn't have Push To Talk so you heard every little thing anyone said and some of it was... Disturbing when I played against randoms.
I don't think I'm happy to hear any of this. It sounds like an opportunity for Deep Silver to repackage and push out the same game. I was hoping for more of a play on the name, like "Dead Country" or something cheesy like that. Then receive radically different locales. Nevermind.
