Quantcast

I have always been a little bit fussy with Xbox Live Arcade games, and for a long time nothing has really knocked Castle Crashers off that top spot on my hard drive. But now a challenger appears.

I bring you Raskulls, an utterly addictive title for XBLA, complete with Mr. Destructoid as a playable character! Phil Larsen, CMO of Halfbrick, finds some time to chat to us about Raskulls, its gameplay, and the challenges of creating a great title with a small development team.

Before we set about filming the interview, both Daniel Carneiro and I spent some time playing; admittedly, we had a lot of fun, and are both super excited about playing this game with all the lovely Dtoid community members when it launches. It has "Friday Night Fights" written all over it!

Y'know, I played a couple of rounds of it with ZeroAtma and naia28. It seems fun for the first hour or so, but I wonder if it can hold up to longevity. Looking forward to the full set of features in the full game.

I love this guy, and this game.

He's a Totoro fan.

I've been playing this game regularly at the Mana Bar in Brisbane (where it's developed) and I can tell you that if you have a few mates around this game will give you hours of fun! I don't know if there will be more than the 16 multiplayer levels we've been playing but either way they're great fun, even more so when you're drinking and playing with your friends.

The singleplayer is freaking awesome too. Probably take you a few hours to get through, and they'll be some of the best hours of your gaming life :P I will wanr you now, it is incredibly cute and finishes with THE cheesiest ending of any game ever. You will never laugh and groan so hard at the same time ever again :P

I've yet to play a Halfbrick game I've liked and this seems to have been in development for ages. I want to be excited for it but it's just not working for me.

I still don't think this game is real! Its the Duke Nukem of XBLA. Promises for over a year now with no release!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it.
