I hear tale that at any moment during PAX there is a duel to the death with cardboard tubes occurring. Those of you there, unlike me, may have already been faced with a battle such as this. However, the next time you are challenged to a fight "Cardboard Tube Samurai" style you would be wise to decline, for there is a far better way to settle your grievances that will not destroy the life of an innocent. That way is Tekken 6, where players will find a Cardboard Tube Samurai outfit for series staple Yoshimitsu.

The trailer above shows off the classic fighting gameplay of Tekken 6 with the CTS taking on Heihachi, while the trailer below shows off the campaign mode of the game. This mode allows players to progress through the game's story in a beat em' up style of gameplay. Namco Bandai claims to have created some unique controls for these sections, but looking at the trailer it looks like the same crap that many fighting games have tried to do in the past to extend their gameplay and warrant a $60 price tag. Seriously, is anyone excited by what they see in the trailer below?

I haven't played a Tekken game since 3, I think I should change this by buying this product thing we have here.

The campaign looks exactly like Tekken Force from Tekken Tag. That was pretty fun at the time, so maybe this will be a decent enough distraction.

Reminds me of the beat em up mode from guilty Gear Izuka.

Except not impossible.

There are nearly 50 characters in the game. I got to use them to do something.

All I am willing to say is that it looks better than the previous beat-em up modes in the previous Tekkens.

ummmm. Is this a trailer from Tekken 6? Looks like poo to me. I liked Tekken 2. That was the last time I spent money on those games. Surely they aren't going to charge people 60$ for a game that isn't up to par with anything else that's being released this year. Namco really needs to catch up with the rest of the world. AND please don't make another namco arcade game. For Gods sake, make something to keep you in business. DANG! What are they thinking?!

I am spending 60 bucks on it! Call me stupid or whatever you want, but I need me some Tekken in my life.

Why does Cardboard Tube Samurai have Yoshimitsu's move set? Hmmm, I think I know how they got their roster up to sixty. The answer is similar to how they got Soulcalibur's character roster as high as they did; duplicate characters.
I think Namco has taken this "shitload of fighters" theme a bit too far. Having 82 (made up #) fighters doesn’t ensure a good game. I have my own theory on why they made the decision for so many fighters...kids have shorter attention spans these days and need more characters to hold their interest, but lack the patience to learn multiple move sets.
This design strategy will move Tekken even further away from the category of "true fighter” in the eyes of some, but others will swear by the game's "fun factor" based on the variety of characters (but does 30 original characters with 30 dupes represent variety?-I guess gamers will decide). I thought I was going to buy this, but after seeing this trailer I may pick it up used.

Looks great, I love Tekken to bits, it's the only fighter I have ever truly enjoyed trying to master, and this looks like a good addition to the world of Tekken.

Just throw in some trophies, and make sure you can unlock a TON of stuff through that mode (like Tekken 5's devil Jin mode) and I'll buy it this year.
