PAX 09: Destructoid community meetup plans! photo

PAX is less than 72 hours away now, and I know all of you coming this weekend are excited beyond belief. In fact, there’s a handful of people, including a bunch of the UK Dtoiders, in Seattle right now awaiting the big gaming party this weekend.

Thursday: At 5:00PM, Dtoider pendelton21 is getting this image made by our comic guy, Mikey, as a tattoo. Yes, really! He’ll be at Apocalypse Tattoo getting the ink.

The Elephant & Castle, located right underneath the Red Lion Hotel, is the main rendezvous point for Destructoid all weekend long. If you're ever feeling lonely, just stop by the bar and you'll likely find people hanging outside (weather permitting). At around 7:00 PM, the group will be splitting up -- a bunch of people are going to a fancy dinner while the other group stays at the Elephant & Castle.

At 9:00PM, both groups will be meeting up at Shorty’s on 2222 2nd Avenue, #A, and we'll all be staying until last call.

Friday: PAX TIME! Congrats to pheonix-blood, Dexter345, KyleGamgee, Toneman, LostCrichton, DJDuffy, The GHost, Tactix, Pangloss, pendelton21 and Kryptinite, who will all be taking on Mr. Destructoid duties as they walk the show floor from 10:00AM to 8:00PM.

From 12:00 to 1:00PM in the Unicorn Theatre is the “Hey Ash, Whatcha Filmin: How to make a moderately successful viral video series that confuses the hell out of people” panel.

At 2:30 to 3:30PM in the Raven Theatre is the “How can we make online gaming communities suck less?” panel, hosted by Destructoid. DO NOT MISS THIS PANEL! Seriously, it’s going to be epic. Also, be sure to wear your Destructoid shirt at this time, as we’ll be taking the annual big group photo right after the panel. P.S. This is where you'll come to pick up your "Become" Dtoid shirt!

Then, in the evening, find Destructoid at the Elephant & Castle again at 10:00PM partying it up.

Saturday: Suit night! Various members are bringing their suits and dresses to dress up for the evening just because they want to. Plus, you’d want to look good while doing some karaoke at the The Crescent, wouldn’t you? Don't worry though, you DON'T have to dress up. You can show up in whatever you'd like to wear. Karaoke fun time will start at 9:00PM.

Sunday: Let’s drink the night away in style over at The Whisky Bar at 8:00PM. Plus, it’s near the water.

Monday: Everyone cries, says their goodbyes and starts planning for PAX East and PAX Seattle 2010.

The plans can change on the fly, so you best be following on Twitter Hamza CTZ Aziz, Niero, Colette, Samit Sarkar, Nick Chester, Dale North, Jordan Jevore, Rey Gutierrez and Jonathan Ross so you can stay updated on all the plans throughout the weekend.

See you all very soon!

Hope you all have fun at PAX.

I gotta meet some more people here so I'm not all awkward and shy at PAX East next year.

Ya, I'm with Cartman and Nukka Jdav, do you have to be 21 to get into any of the places on the schedule?

Ah man, I would have liked to meet some of the U.K crew, but another time perhaps. Now perhaps you guys should organise something for xmas or new year, instead.

Yeah anyway, enjoy PAX all that are going. If you get a chance, check out the Geek Nights panel crew, Rym and Scott, because they are awesome.

Yay, sounds great!

@ garison

The Elephant & Castle (a.k.a. the Red Lion) allows in underage kids to hang out. Depending on the circumstances, you might even be able to drink, but always expect to be carded if you look too young. I'd assume every other bar is more strict, but I didn't try after one bar (not listed here) didn't let me in the first night I was there. So basically, you'll probably be allowed in the main Dtoid hang-out, there's just a chance you'll have to stay sober.

Elephant & Castle is a "PUB/Restaurant", we bring the kids there to eat now and then. They will let people into the facility if under 21. This is likely the only place to meet-up if under the drinking age.

the PAX show itself has no age limit. I've seen toddlers and teens.

As a local Seattle boy make sure you guys take a cab to "Dicks Burgers" Just ask anyone in town and theyll point you in the right direction. If youre lookin for a good pub check out Kells by Pike place market, Owl n Thistle and Fado's-all Irish with lots of great draft brews. Hales Ales brewery, Redhook(in woodinville)and Pyramid ALehouse are fun places to check out. Enjoy
