PAX 09: Deathspank gameplay trailer has skeletons in it

4:20 PM on 09.04.2009

I am unsure of why we are seeing trailers for videogames come out of a candy apple tasting convention, but nonetheless, above you will find the trailer for Hothead's upcoming PC title, Deathspank. My mother administered a deathspank once, when my younger brother was caught chewing the legs of our household furniture. It was a sad day.

The video displays a young gentleman clad in armor, running about killing skeletons. There is no spanking that I can see, just axes and lightning attacks, which makes this trailer suitable for viewing in a work environment. Surely Geraldo beedog would not post footage of the NSFW variety. How dare you insinuate otherwise. I bring you this trailer in the name of NEWS.

The game will soon be available for PC in these United States, though we have not received an official release date as of yet. It has been described by some as "Monkey Island meets Diablo," and I cannot fathom what that means. I still do not understand what any of this has to do with candy apples.

Titan Souls is my PAX Prime 2014 game of show

Confession time: I'm pretty out of the loop when it comes to the indie game scene. I love me some Nidhogg, Samurai Gunn, and Crawl, but it's not uncommon for me to have only heard about these games just before release or late...more

Nicalis kicked my ass again with Castle in the Darkness

After checking out The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth at PAX Prime, I spent a decent chunk of time with another upcoming Nicalis project, Castle in the Darkness. It's a challenging platform-adventure PC game that feels all too app...more

After two straight hours of Fortnite, I'm a fan

When Epic first announced Fortnite, I was on board based on the premise of defending player-made forts from monsters. But that was a couple of years ago. Things change. My interest had been waning up until recently, when I go...more
