Like Resident Evil, it has no story of value to start with. RE had decent lore, but the actual story is laughable.

I don't see how this is any cause for concern. I love monster hunter games. If somebody wants to make a movie I won;t watch about it then power to them.
It's not like it will have any effect on me or other fans if it got made, or the games for that matter. All it might do is get the franchise is more publicity. And the dude some moolah if it's profitable
Hell, I could probably enjoy the laughs when watching it a few mates and some drinks :D. So far, I can only see an upside to this :P

I cant even fathom what the weirdo big-whigs at Capcom are doing with their franchises now, so an MH movie would probably put them on some sort of insane power trip. Maybe 2-3 MH games a year, all with promised DLC that will only come in the form of costume changes :p

I was like "MOTHER FUCKER NO" at first but...after thinking about it...I don't see a problem with this. I mean, what if it did really well? We would start seeing more Monster Hunter games released over here and that is worth having a shitty movie made.

What the hell are you guys complaining about. Monster Hunter has no narrative substance whatsoever. No matter what Anderson does, he will be ADDING to the franchise

The protagonist will find a baby Rathalos and will have to return it to it's mother. There will also be an anti-hunting, eco-friendly message to the film. I'm calling it right now.

If they do anything with MH they should make an anime based on the manga. A movie isn't a terrible idea but with paul making it, it will be awful.

I disagree with most of yous in the same way twdaw does. Assuming he gets a decent budget and does the monsters justice, theres plenty of potential here for an entertaining movie. The games get pretty darn cinematic quite often anyway.
My first thought is, how do you make a movie out of an (unpopular outside of Japan) MMO? Better than a Resident Evil 6... but I'd rather he bust his ass to make a much better Castlevania movie, however PWSA tends to do things on the cheap.
