Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Many of you all ready know that I love all things Paul Robertson. From Pirate Baby Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006 to Kings of Power 4 Billion %; everything Paul has made is undeniably awesome.

The latest animation from Paul sees him promoting Syke energy drink. The drink isn’t real (Syke, get it?) but after watching the video, I really want Syke energy drink. I WANT LIFE TO BE LIKE A VIDEOGAME TOO!

You’ll see a lot of nods to videogames in this faux ad. The level Syke kid runs through is a mixture of Mario and Sonic level designs, there’s a brief shoot ‘em up section, and more. There are some nods to the Mecha Fetus Visual Blog as well like Cake Dog, the Mecha Fetus mascot and Persona’s Super Genocide Piranhaman makes a cameo too.

[Thanks, jediyoshi!]

Why is Paul Robertson not making videogames?

And why doesn't he return my calls, or respond to my fan mail?

I support making this a real game.

I think the "nod" at video games are a little too obvious to be called a "nod."

I think there's some Mega Man and Jazz Rabbit in there too.

Actually, this dude does work on games... He was on the team for Contra 4 and Lock's Quest, among others (lots of licensed crap though).

@ Surperfluos Moniker- What I mean is, I want Paul Robertson to make a game that has the look and feel of one of his movies. After hearing that he worked on Locke's Quest, I bought the game thinking it was going to give me that Paul Robertson feeling I knew so well.

I was pretty disappointed. It's a good game and all, but it's not really a Paul Robertson game, if you catch my drift.

A Paul Robertson game is high on my videogame wishlist along with a sequel for Shantae and Match of the Millenium.

That was pretty neat, but not nearly as awesome as Cabana Battle or Kings of Power.
