Part two of Left 4 Dead's 'The Sacrifice' comic is out photo

It's week two for The Sacrifice, and that means we get to learn more about Zoey's past. It also means plenty of additional fuel for the dedicated Left 4 Dead fanfic writers, bless their souls.

The comic delves into the typical conflict that arises when a loved one becomes infected, although it is handled reasonably well. Apparently I have a heart made of stone, though -- Jonathan Ross was sad after reading part two of The Sacrifice; I was not.

At any rate, Valve is doing some neat community things with the comics. Read more about that here, or head straight to the latest installment if you're in a rush or something.

Got to love Valve for still producing L4D/TF2 content after so long :] Awesome read.

Can't say I really like the art style, also the creator seems to think Zoey is more of an action girl and she really isn't.

Otherwise it's pretty cool though.

I was disappointed in the first one.

After about 5 or 6 pages the art declines, gets ugly.

The art kinda grew on me, i know its not great but it delivers the feeling of a gritty world taken over by zombies. currently holding my nuts and waiting for the sacrifice.

@kefkasque Gotta love it when people tell the creators what kind of characters they created.

Thing is, the comic is officially supported by Valve, so the comic has to be canon to a certain extent.

That said, I love the characterization. This is the kind of thing I'd love to see more. Free side stories that give you more insight into the characters of your favorite games. I don't even play L4D that much but I'm already looking forward to the next installment.

HUGE step up from the first installment. I'm too used to the TF2 comics to really hate on the art style that hard, and the dialogue and story is pretty compelling this time around. I'm looking forward to seeing how they wrap this up, and to playing as the original survivors again.

P.S. @ Matthey Blevins: I'd cite a character from the new group of survivors for a counter-argument, but every time I try to write her name I pass out for a couple of seconds. So damn boring.

P.P.S. That middle panel of the header image needs a "later bitches" speech bubble stat.

Good shit. Loving the way Valve are supporting and expanding their game worlds with comics.

I liked it. This and part 1 were both good reads, and the art style is nice. Zoey looks a little strange, but everyone else looks fine. I like how they're giving backstory to stuff that happened in L4D2 also and explaining more about the green flu. CEDA doesn't want people rounded up and shot, even though they eventually giving up on stopping the military. We also know now that the green flu is sometimes airborne and sometimes not.

I can't wait until they release versions with no text bubbles, too. It'll be interesting what people do with it.

I also can't wait for next Tuesday to read part 3.

Hate people bitching about minor details. Some of you are worse than the Steam Forums lot.

Anyway, who cares about this week? Next week is Francis <3

Vhaius said it best. I think its actually really well written especially compared to that clusterfuck of a Dead Space comic, this appears to have people who know the source material well and seem to care for it.

This really shows in pages 67 to 69, probably the most emotional scenes Ive read since Batman adopted Tim Drake.

Cant wait for Francis' side of things and then the finale. I really hope this is released in book form because I would buy it.

I guess it's valid to say "Hey, I don't like the art style in this comic" but I personally can't complain about the extras they put in a game (comics, mods, movies, trailers, etc...), specially considering the life span of current games. That's why I love VALVe !

Gee-Man: I can only speak for myself, but I thought kefkaesque was referring for the athletic physique Zoe is portrayed with. That has little bearing on the canon.

It doesn't really bother me much. I'm enjoying the comic, but I'm not the kind of guy who regularly reads comics. I guess I'm not used to somewhat hasty, over exaggerated drawing styles.

I'm loving it so far; it's great to see some more story behind the first game, which honestly lacked in that department. Also it's awesome how they're connecting the campaigns.

Can't wait for what they've got in store for the characters of the second game.
