Parasite Eve spin-off comes to PSP, also Final Fantasy Agito XIII photo

Square-Enix's little shindig in Shinjuku has brought home news that two portable games, Final Fantasy Agito XIII and Parasite Eve spin-off The 3rd Birthday are going to hit the PSP. The pair of titles had previously only been announced as mobile phone games, which is why none of you have cared about them previously.

Now, ever so slightly less of you can be apathetic about the games when they come to the PlayStation Portable. Agito XIII is part of Square Enix's Crystal Novellis Novella XIII Pretentiousness XIII Fantasia Crystal Crystal Crystal series, which includes Final Fantasy XIII and FFXII VersusThe 3rd Birthday stars Parasite Eve protagonist Aya Brea but is said to play differently from prior entries in the series.

No dates have thus far been given, but Squeenix is looking to release the games some time in 2009.

I'd rather have a Parasite Eve remake or at least the original on PSN. But at least it's good to see some PSP games that are ports of something other than PS2 for a change.

But Parasite Eve was good :( Back in the days when survival horror reigned supreme on the consoles, she was never in the limelight, but they were good games! They shouldn't change too much :(

I don't own a PSP anyway. I'd buy it if it was distributed over the PSN and I could play it on the PS3 though.

Agito XIII?

Well, consider me part of the I Lost Track of Which of These Final Fantasies is What camp. I'll just be over here playing V, if anyone needs me.

There, now people can quit complaining about major series getting cell phone installments.

Hey, nice to see Parasite Eve getting some love.

Now if they can just bring that FFIV sequel over to my DS...

I was waiting for a new/remake/spin-off of PE since I played part two. I thought those games were great and the story was doable (along with Aya, nyuck nyuck nyuck). I think games like PE, and hell, even Bloodrayne need to try their hand on new consoles sometime in the future... or is my mind just thinking of too much blue-ray boobs?

Weird coincidence. I just bought Parasite Eve at a garage sale a few days ago. I've yet to play it, though.

Grr, another awesome sounding PSP game that I'm probably never going to play because I'm probably never going to buy a PSP. Well, PSP > cell phones, I'll give it that much at least. Here's to hoping they also get ported to PS2...

So happy someone grew brains at SE to realize the awesomeness that PE was. Spinoff or not, I'll take it!

Hopefully it rocks.

I sold my copies of Parasite Eve 1+2 :( I now sell NOTHING related to video games.

The original Parasite Eve is the only game that I have ever played through multiple times IN A ROW. Like most gamers I will occasionally go back to an old favorite to play again a few years later. This was the only game I ever finished, watched the ending movie and credits, and then started right back at the begining immediately. I played through a second time and then went back in to play the EX game.

LOVE IT!! DO WANT!!

It's almost worth picking up a psp for. I love the PE games. Now all I have to do is convince the wife that its powers can be used for more than evil.
