Papers, Please took the $30,000 Seumas McNally Grand Prize at this year's IGF awards, joining last year's Cart Life

The other winners include Gorogoa (Excellence in Visual Art), Papers, Please (Excellence in Narrative), Papers, Please (Excellence in Design), Device 6 (Excellence in Audio), Risk of Rain (Best Student Game), The Stanley Parable (Audience Award), and Luxeria Superbia (Nuovo Award). 

I'd have been cool with some more Samurai Gunn love, but I'm jazzed that Jazzpunk got nomination love. The full list of nominees and and honorable mentions is below. What was your favorite indie game of the last year?

Y2K is a surrealist fantasy told through the lens of a Murakami-loving hipster

Y2K began with protagonist Alex Eggleston returning to his his hometown from college. I watched him gaze out of bus windows until the scene shifted to him sharing a seat with a man in a panda costume. This was jarring enough to give Alex reason to look completely shaken and offended, and as the jaunty soundtrack suggested, should have felt super quirky and weird. It didn't.more

Slain! is an homage to a particular kind of gothic, gory classic

Masquerada is a very pretty Baldur's Gate-style RPG
