Funny, based on the footage I've seen, I'd say it was more inspired by Resistance than GTA. Unless they mean GTA2, but even then, top-down rioting isn't so easy to pull off.
I'm glad they reported this because the fact is normal people know video games don't inspire these problems (although I'm not denying they might have a teensy, tiny impact on stuff) so they just dismiss it as nonsense. Only idiots believe this stuff and only idiots can't form an opinion so they take the ones from whatevet they can get their hands on.

No this is happening because a small minority have taken exception to a police shooting, the rest are using it as an Excuse to riot and steal while the police force is Stretched throughout London. I would say that was pretty smart.

Whew! Thank God I only played Saints Row 2 with its nonviolent gameplay and wholesome tale of peace. I certainly dodged those 54,456 bullets.
Well... just fow moment ago they loot sony distribution center from ps3 before putting the whole building on fire.
I used to work at second hand game store and some parents ware buying gta games for their 7+ year old kids even though i would worn them about it's content( as far as saying that there is unlockable porn in the game when they ware buying san andreas) but they ware not conserned and even as stupid as aking their kids will they be watching it? Kids ware getting the point and saying no ~( i mean how a 7 year old can know what porn is??? ) It's all sick and I blame parents for being stupid fucks but we should be honest here and violent images are affecting people making them insensitive and making them lookg for even stronger thrills. I don't play to many violent games because later on they stick as images in my head and sometimes i even got dreams related to them.
As well i we used to have some asbo's coming to the shop in groups causing trouble and i remember hearing them saying to each other that gta is a great game and before trying to cause harm some of them ware saying to do it in the way like they saw it in the game.
So for me picture is quite clear and the bottom line is: parents are being stupid but games and films can trigger antysocial behavior in some people and kids. Especialy to does form patological families.
