Licensing.biz -- a Web site that hurts my brain with all its crazy “acquisition” and “brand profile” talk -- is reporting that NBC Universal (which owns Bravo) has secured DSI Games to produce a Wii game based on popular reality show Top Chef.

Make fun of me if you will, but I love Top Chef. Love it. In fact, I love all reality television. Yup, I am one of those people. But a game based on Top Chef? I don’t really like the sound of that. True, putting it on the Wii is a step in the right direction (wow, I just cut that star anise myself!), but the producers need to avoid the game being just another generic Cooking Mama clone.

What do you think? Would you play a game based on Top Chef? What other reality shows would make good Wii games (Groomer Has It!)?

Go Stephanie!

I also Loooovvvveeee Top Chef. A video game though I don't know.

Just so everyone knows Dale and Richard are the two best chefs this year...... My girlfriend Padma told me so.

I was going to post "In before Aerox suggest Survivor," but of course, he got it with the zeroth comment.

What reality show would make a good video game? I can only think of one. The Weakest Link.
Aerox's Avatar
There is already a Survivor game. Sadly, it's like 8 years old and not very good at all.

Also, Weakest Link is not a reality show. It is a game show. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE.

Mass market gaming depresses me sometimes.

It's a reality game show. There is voting off.

In Top Chef, I assume people get eliminated for being the third-to-the-top chef or whatever. Same thing.

cooking mama allready conquered that market :-)

Im with Fromagex, I would play an IRON CHEF title but this seems iffy...

also reality TV is like a virus that will run rampant through your system and cause you to forget what good writing can do for entertainment.

I'm holding out for a "Hell's Kitchen" game.

"Fucking 'ell...you call that a fucking Wiimote gesture? IT'S FUCKING SHIT."

This game wins because it has the potential for plenty of Padma. There is NOTHING wrong with that.

I think I've played Cooking Mama before. What's going to make the difference? Realistic chef graphics? lawl.

Awesome! The Wii is quickly becoming the worlds best paper weight with fancy, overpriced coasters!

Man, there sure are a lot of annoying assholes on this season of Top Chef. I guess I'll go with Stephanie.
