I wouldn't be too surprised. Especially after the big fight Epic had with Microsoft regarding the release of additional content. Epic is all about free content, and MS is the opposite. As we see with UT3, Sony is more likely to allow them more freedom with extra content I'd say.

You know, Patcher's job is incredibly similar to that of a meteorologist. They both get paid an awful lot of money to basically predict the future, and if their predictions happen to be wrong, nobody calls them on it!

I don't know about having Gears and GoW on the same system. Since some uninformed people call Gears GoW, it could confuse people!
Patcher is an idiot, he thinks everything is going to come out on the PlayStation 3. Gears of War is close to being a 5 million seller on Xbox 360 alone, I think Epic are pretty happy staying with Microsoft when it comes to Gears of War.

It's not like Patcher is uneducated and he does have some exclusive access to the world of games. He has his flops, but I think he is more right than wrong when it comes to the video game industry. Anyway, I could care less as I thought Gears was as overrated as all of the Halo's have been.

Does Microsoft Game Studios mean anything to anyone? Face it, Gears is as unlikely to come to the PS3 as Resistance is coming to the 360. It will never fucking happen. Any speculation like this is nothing but wishful thinking.
When GoW2 hits 360, GoW1 will be hitting Ps3 either shortly before, same time, or shortly after.

Shadow: There's a Mac OSX port in the works, as well as a linux executable. Epic has a history of making linux and Mac ports for their games, and Gears is no different, although the linux version for Gears and UT3 is being delayed longer than usual do to "political" issues.
While I'm sure the title is good, haven't played it, its been out a little to long for me to care if it comes to the PS3. If I haven't gotten it by now I'm not going to, maybe if it hits $20 for pc. Even if they tacked on some additional content it still wouldn't be enough to get me to buy it. Would PS3 owners get it? Sure some might, but I doubt we'll being breaking down the doors to get our hands on it.

The difference between alot of you guys' predictions, like "If gears goes to PS3, then resistance will go xbox" is that Epic is not an in house developer. They can do whatever they want. So unless M$ has wrapped up some contract with Epic, then this is possible. Unlikely, from my point of view, as it prints money for M$ so they'll tie it up, but possible if M$ does nothing. Games like Resistance, on the other hand, would never go anywhere as they only develop for PS.

Anyway, as for saying Pachter is a PS3 fanboy.....wasn't he the one that made everyone hate PS3 back in August when he predicted that the PS3 was the cause for the GTA delay? MS will pay anything to keep the franchise exclusive.

As a PS3 owner, I would love to have had gears. That was until I played Uncharted. Now I just want MOAR UNCHARTED!!!!
With the life cycle of the consoles I would not be surprised that the 3rd Gears title would be exclusive to the next Xbox. The fact that the 360 had 512mb of RAM was influenced heavily by Epic. I don,t see Epic trying to pull any fast ones on Microsoft. Most of there games are sold on Microsofts platforms.
Patcher is forgetting the fact that while Gears of War was developed by Epic it was published by Microsoft Game Studios. This is why it's on the 360 and PC.

It is interesting. I like Gears and I think it could probably run better on the PS3. One thing I don't understand is this whole fanboy thing. I have both a 360 and a PS3 so I don't have any real sides. I think the 360 has some great titles and the PS3 is a superior system. The people 360 fanboys because they can't afford a PS3? To me it makes no sense. The news of Gears going to PS3 has nothing to do with 360 owners. Unless... the only thing that 360 fanboys have to rely on are the exclusives. If Gears goes away, there won't be that many "important" exclusives other than Halo. There has even been news of Mass Effect porting. If you take that away and go system for system, then PS3 would win hands down. I think the whole thing is silly. Even when I just had my 360 alone, I was not concerned with what was going on with PS3. But now that I have both, I really don't understand all the venom.

Michael Pachter's an intelligent man, but he really comes off as a total Sony fanboy inside. Some predictions he makes sound little more than wishes.
I bet it will happen. Makes business sense for both if Epic can get some money out of MS for timed exclusivity.
