The first arcade game I ever completed was Final Fight at the Dolphin Swimming pool in Romford. I was well chuffed with the little story ending, even though it did cost me a weeks pocket money to do it.

Great list I grew up playing all those in the arcade.

Anyway, old games are old. Definitely games you visit in the nursing home to get your nostalgia on but... I can't see spending money on them. Maybe it's because I played the hell out of all of them when they were new. I dunno. Oh, also: WTF is Mortal Kombat doing in that list of classics? Pretty weird placement...

I like the list... it has a lot of the original games that were around (my boyfriend at the time was addicted to space invaders!) I think one of the reasons that pac man stayed at the top was that it was one of the most common games, but it was also one of the games that came in the "bar table" version where you could sit and have your drinks and there was the pacman game under the glass top of the table. I still remember many fun hours sitting in a local bar playing pac man while waiting on my shift to start (my summer job when I was a university student)
