Preview: Skylanders universe grows with Skylanders Giants
Activision enjoyed incredible success with Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure this past holiday, and the company is planning on building upon it one year later with a sequel, Skylanders Giants. By bringing a huge, destructive take on a title that's already a favorite among kids, Giants aims to put a fresh new spin on the game with larger-than-life (literally) characters. In the original Skylanders, players were quite limited in what they could do on each level, be it taking down enemies or traversing new planes. With the Giants awake, that is all changed.
Skylanders Giants (Xbox 360 [previewed], PlayStation 3, Wii)
The Giants are able to destroy certain parts of the environment, such as a nearby castle that didn't stand for much longer once it was in Tree Rex's view. But the destruction is more than just a visual effect; it can also be used to find new passages and hidden objects. One such example was the Giant plunging into a weakening patch of concrete, and after making contact he plummeted roughly twenty feet into the grounds of the castle. Getting out was easy as pie, too; all he had to do was smash through a few walls. Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I'm really looking forward to this! Hopefully they'll have their shipment issues of the toys all worked out before this hits. I also need to go back and finish the first one, my sister and I tend to whittle away at it in short bursts. As already mentioned, hopefully their production/shipping issues will be resolved by the time this comes out. I finally managed to get my son one of each Skylander element figure (Sonic Boom was a pain to track down), but now he wants the Ice Cave-thing expansion pack...which apparently all of the eBay and Amazon scalpers are snagging. This thing blew up big time. I'm amazed. My cousin got the game for Christmas, and he's been all about tracking down those figurines. It's a the pain in the ass when every store is completely sold out. He really wants Stealth Elf so that we can finally have a Life Element Skylander. This is looking sweet. To the folks talking about production/shipping problems: they are creating supply and demand. It keeps you hunting and interested. Speaking of which, where the fuck is Zook? I neeeeed him. 1:30 PM on 05.16.2013 Diablo III celebrates its one-year anniversaryWell, it's been a series of ups and downs (that could have all been avoided if the Auction House was taken down), but Diablo III is now one year old.
