The best thing is that I get paid to write headlines like that.
Anyway, Overlord II is a matter of weeks away and I am very excited indeed for the sequel to what was quite possibly my favorite game of 2007. With a more evil Overlord, more effective Minions and of course, seal clubbing, this could very well be my favorite of game of 2009.
The new screenshots show out anti-hero sending his cackling army into a variety of locations, which seem a lot more distinct in this sequel. Nordberg, the Heartland, Fairyland and the jungle should provide a fresh change of scenery during the course of the game.
Go look at the screens, share with us your views. Or we'll kill you.

In real life: Retarded
In videogame: AWESOME!!!
PS: This theory applies to pretty much everything in life.
This one will be better.
Woo!
I'd love some more overloardish moments. Fighting critters and people is pretty good, but previous game had noticable lack of overloarding. Ruling the realm with an iron fist? Sitting on the throne and scheming some evil scheme? Terryfing enemies into flight/submission by just appearing on the battlefield?
It was really fun and good game - but it shoul've been entitled "overlord's second sergant".
Ok, I bought the first game when it came out, one of my first 360 games. I traded it in a few months later, after quite a few ragequits. I never finished it. I didnt even come close. I just became to agitated with alot of the game. I bought my second copy when circuit city bit the dust for a whole 10 bucks. And again, after a few hours of playing, i got to the same point, and started raging. I quit playing, and shelved it again, vowing to pick it up again. I did, and started fresh. I was determined to finish it. I broke my cardinal rule of gaming, and ended up poking through a walkthrough. Usually I dont even glance at one until my second playthrough of a game, just to see what I might have missed. But once I did, I couldnt stop. And thats the fatal flaw of the first game. It drops you in a place, and lets you try to figure it out, but gives you little to no direction. Ever. There are very few straightforward parts of the game, and that gets annoying, fast. Getting to an area, then wandering around until you find something your suppost to do isnt that fun. Its annoying. Now, I didnt want a glowing gold trail leading me everywhere (cough cough *horrible design element* cough cough) but it would have been nice to unlock a place, then know a general idea of what you have to do.
The other thing that made me rage so hard I thought I was going to have my brain asplode is the dungeon crawling, and the minion hording. It irritated me to no end when I would get to a part of a dungeon, only for a puzzle to come up where I needed X color of minion, and not have any. So instead of putting enemies in that area that helped me, I would have to go back out, and go to a completely different area to get it, then come back. Annoying as hell. And the dungeon parts just got old, and a little lame. Im glad they cut them out of the last half of the game.
But once I finally figured out what the hell I was supposed to do, i thoroughly enjoyed the game, and found it quit satisfying when I beat it. Not the longest or the hardest game ever, but it was fun. And thats what a good game should be. So hopefully they fixed the problems I had with the first, so I can really enjoy this one.
