Codemasters is pumping out the Overlord-themed goodies this year, with Overlord II coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, Overlord Minions hitting the DS and Overlord Dark Legend invading the Wii. The latter is one we haven't talked about very much, so it's a good job we've got ourselves a new trailer and some screenshots to post.
Dark Legend is looking really good for a Wii game. Perhaps not quite as good as the Sonic games have looked, but I'm fairly certain that Overlord is going to play a lot better than anything Sonic Team has spewed up on the system lately. Provided it keeps the sense of humor and "evil Pikmin"gameplay of the original game, I can't see this going too wrong.

You're doing it wrong. It's hard-hitting JOURNALISM.
Also, I'm giving serious thought to getting it, as it'll be one of my first Wii purchases in months, but I'm cagey about buying two (maybe three) Overlord titles in a single quarter.
Looking forward to II on the 360 just as I was looking forward to the original pre launch. Games like these are what has kept me gaming for better than 2 decades..
Haha! D-toid is a funny place...I have learned not to comment on titles anymore...apparently the autors are not as "in control" of titles or "taglines" as I'd once believed. The game looks good tho'...LOL
Gamera: There's a difference between commenting and being a child. Also, Niero is working on giving us control over what tags appear on the frontpage, which I am glad about.
@Jim
Cool! I'm happy to report that I have become a bit less...uhhh what's the word...yeah, INSANE in my commenting habits! Hey, we're all human right? Well, mostly...;}
I'm being a child? Wasn't it you who wrote not long ago about how silly gaming journalism is? Sorry I forgot that the internet is serious, especially when it comes to gaming journalism about a wii spinoff game and pun humor. Let alone busting balls over a silly comment someone made months ago. I'm surprised I'm the only one who brings that up. I do so not with malice, but out of the spirit of humor and ball busting.
I'm not the only one being a child. We're all trying to recapture our childhood. Those of us who aren't are still in theirs. It's hard to accept that, but that's essentially all video gaming has become. Especially since new games are so awful.

Jim's a great one to rabble. I suppose that's why. Same with Rev Anthony. The whole idea that we're a community and bust each others chops is what I like about it. I guess since this whole professionalism shift that doesn't exist anymore. Forgive me for thinking it would be humorous to joke with the reviews editor of a video game website. God forbid humor to exist on the internet. Read about it, its written in the internet bible.
Why is it that everytime Jim posts a comment, someone HAS to be a bitch about him?
Also the game looks pretty cool. Kinda like pikmin on a sugar rush. I think.
Random: Busting chops is great and all that, but you've been giving me the impression of being rather bitter about that whole drama llama nonsense for some reason. If you're not genuinely annoyed about something, then that's fine. Just make sure you keep commenting on my blogs or get the fuck out of the community!!!!
Oh btw, the irony here is that this post would probably still be at five comments right now. :-)
@Random
Some say I do take some things too seriously, and that's true to an extent, but I always have a reason. In this case, I'm saying that calling out Jim at every turn by making the same jokes gets a bit old. At least Nanbu has a bit of flavor to his rants.
Watching that trailer, I think I just witnessed rape.
Overlord has so much potential. Its first title was a little awkward but well meaning. I think they've been taking steps in making the series better and are walking entirely in the wrong direction. Oh well.
Could someone tell me what's going on? In any case,if it makes Randombullseye feel better Jim Sterling didn't finish Halo Wars for his review and there is a gay porn actor on Youtube that shares his name.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I for one will definitely buy this in four years. Why not buy it for ten bucks in 2013.

This comment is as biting as it is cutting. What witty commentary Randombullseye brings to us once again.
Being a part of the community means commenting on your blogs, doesn't it?
You deserve a forum medal: Jim-Rabble Rouser.
