Jonesing for a bit of Kid Icarus Wii information? Well, you can't have it. Because it doesn't exist.

Instead, in an interesting bit of post-E3 confluence, here's a trailer for an upcoming WiiWare title called Icarian: Kindred Spirits. It's being developed by Over the Top, an indie studio based in Madrid, who worked on Clive Barker's Jericho. Like Frontier's LostWinds or Meckensleep's excellent Soul Bubbles before it, Icarian is driven by a use-the-Wiimote-to-create-wind mechanic.

The story is about a young warrior angel-girl named Nyx (not to be confused with Night) who is trying to find the body of the legendarily stupid Icarus. Her adventure is, of course, fraught with danger and she'll have to use the "powers of the gods" to change the scenery and control the wind in order to avoid quicksand, ferocious hydras, and pederasty. The best news? Icarian features local co-op.

I still don't know too much about Icarian, but the trailer (below the jump) and the screenshots (in the gallery) look great, and that's enough to keep me interested for now. I particularly like how far away the camera is and the sense of scale that it creates. Spain isn't exactly a hotbed of European videogame development, so, at least from a conceptual point of view, I'll keep an eye out.

I remember seeing a trailer for this game some time earlier this year -- and then completely forgetting about it for whatever reason.

I'm glad that some more information has surfaced, because it looks like it would be right up my alley -- and local co-op is always a good thing.

Wii-Ware really has me excited. I originally wrote it off as a hotbed of shit games, which it is..but it turns out some real gems: World of Goo, Bit Trip Beat, Lit, and Lostwinds are all fantastic.

Too see another game take advantage of wind like Lostwinds did is exciting. To boot the Greek mythology background excites me. I was a huge fan of Lostwinds because of the soundtrack and what it added to the atmosphere. If this trailer is anything to go off of, it shares that great auditory addition.

I'm getting a big Dali vibe from this, which is really cool. Maybe that's the Spanish influence taking form, but for a second I thought this was something related to Ico given the artstyle.

I got the Dali vibe from it too, and combined with the music (if that trailer is any indication) I am totally sold on this game on art design and atmosphere alone.

Any game done ala Soul Bubbles is instantly on my radar. Man that game was good.

As for LostWinds, I downloaded it right before Christmas and it got lost in the holiday shuffle. I really need to go back to that soon.
