We all know that most PSP owners are completely dickless, but for the first time ever, it's true in a literal sense. A new study from Nielsen indicates that half of the PSP's audience is made up of females. It looks like that lilac Hannah Montana SKU was actually good for something.
According to the study group's fact sheet, 52% of PSP users are of the vaginal variety. Unsurprisingly, the Wii also has high female exposure, with 49% of its audience possessing a pair of chest-bollocks. Apparently, 45% of all active gamers are women now, marking quite the milestone.
In other statistics, the Xbox 360 is apparently the most played console on the market, followed by the PS3, and then the Wii. Not really a surprise there. In any case, if you want to meet more women, buy a PSP. It will definitely make the girls want to do sex on you.

As much as senseless dividing of demographics tends to annoy me, and any discrimination as a result of such is even more offensive, there is nothing pointless about these statistics.
What triggers and appeals to the male demographic is generally very different from the female demographic. This is not a matter of separation, but instead knowing who you're selling your product to.
Seeing as you're not selling PSPs or PSP games, I can imagine why you don't think of this information as very pertinent, but don't write it off as "pointless".

and lol @Esteban RM if guy gamers can't treat each other with respect I dunno how you expect them to treat women with any. That being said, I think gaming sites should be a little more equal with their objectification of people. I know I'd sure as hell browse Destructoid more often if there were more pics of nearly naked hot dudes.
