The Elder Scrolls Online

Over 5 million people registered for the Elder Scrolls Online beta

8:00 AM on 04.04.2014

The Elder Scrolls Online is officially available today for the masses on the PC and Mac. To celebrate, Bethesda has released another badass cinematic trailer, titled The Siege.

Along with this trailer comes a neat little infographic Bethesda put together. Highlights include that 5 million people registered for the ESO beta, there's over 40 million weapon variations, there's so many character variations that the number can't even fit on the infographic, and that it would take 32 hours to read the over 2,000 books in the game.

Wondering how ESO is? Check out our first 24 hours with the game, and check back frequently as we'll have ongoing coverage of the game up until we do the full on scored review.

ZeniMax details The Elder Scrolls Online's upcoming pay-to-play store

The latest MMO to go the pay-to-play route is The Elder Scrolls Online. Last month's announcement was a bit of a shocker to some, as going subscription free is an indicator of bad news for MMOs. However, ZeniMax is trying its...more

Surprise! Elder Scrolls Online is dropping the fee for existing subscribers, console version dated

When I reviewed The Elder Scrolls Online back at launch I thought it had potential, but not enough to keep people paying for subscription time. Plenty of MMOs have enjoyed a subscription-based model, and games like ...more

Elder Scrolls Online will revamp its Veteran Rank system soon

Elder Scrolls Online is a good game in many ways, but it failed to meet my expectations in terms of a service worth subscribing to. ZeniMax is responding to some complaints by revamping its Veteran Rank content, which is aime...more

The Onion spoofs character creation in this ESO video

We're not quite at the point where we can customize individual organs and bones in a character creation screen, but The Onion humorously takes a look at a fictional Elder Scrolls Online system that does just that -- and...more

Review: The Elder Scrolls Online

It's been a long month in The Elder Scrolls Online, full of ups and downs. At first, ESO wowed me unlike essentially any other MMO before it. Similar to Lord of the Rings Online but with much more bravado, the openi...more

ZeniMax gives out an extra five days of gametime for The Elder Scrolls Online

Review: Ironfall: Invasion

Developing a Gears of War-like cover shooter for Nintendo 3DS is unconventional, but that's just what VD-Dev did with Ironfall: Invasion. Featuring both local and online multiplayer, as well as an 11-stage campaign, the project seems fairly ambitious for the handheld, and as you'd expect, there are mixed results. While multiplayer turned out well enough, the campaign is a mess.more

Review: The Deer God

In a lot of ways, The Deer God is a love letter to nature. The idea was born from the developers' childhood memories of playing in the woods and seeing wild deer, and that admiration of the outdoors is quite apparent. The for...more

Review: Pneuma: Breath of Life

Pneuma: Breath of Life is, through and through, a creationist tale. There's no theory of evolution, carbon dating, or Darwinism to cause debate. It's one god and the world that he brought into existence mere seconds earlier. As it turns out, being the only inhabitant of a world is a dull affair.more
