In my time, a lot of Kickstarter initiatives have come and gone. There is, after all, only so much disposable income willing to be given out for the day's good cause. I can't predict what will happen to ORION: Prelude, but I can say that Spiral Game Studios certainly put the effort in.
The studio is looking for pledges in order to A) get the multiplayer beta ready for a summer launch, B) come to GDC 2011 in style, and C) feed its members. That last one is always the kicker. At the time of writing, Spiral is about a third of the way there to reaching the $10,000 goal.
Some of the rewards for contributing are admittedly rather awesome, so give 'em a look.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.
