Our friends at Original Sound Version have posted their Original Soundtrack of the Year awards. Those in the market for some smooth tunes, take note -- you'll want to dig out your headphones in a second.
The site covered not just videogames for its honors, but anime, chiptunes, and remixes as well. If, like me, you miss out on most Japanese role-playing games, your ears are in for a treat. It's been a good year for music across all of the aforementioned disciplines.
As a lover of indie, props must be given for OSV's Best Indie Game Soundtrack selection, Tower of Heaven. Absolutely nailed it, in my opinion. Be sure to read up on the full choices, and if you're dying for even more brilliant tracks, look no further. (Seriously, bookmark this link.)

Yeah, we've all seen so-called "real-life Mario Kart" before, but always as a parody rather than a legitimate adaptation of the game mechanics in a physical setting. But wait around long enough and the magic of SCIENCE will ...
When it comes to controllers, I try to steer clear of third-party options, as I've never once had a better experience with a knock-off versus the real thing. On the other hand, I gladly welcome any and all limited edition pad...
I will never be able to answer the question "What's your first love: music or videogames?" So, I'm always happy when the two combine to make something rad. Such is the case with Tumblr Music History in GIFs.

So Nintendo Power is over and done with. Tears and all that. Pour one out for our homies.

If you've been catching any of Red vs. Blue during the past couple of years, you'll have noticed that the boys at Rooster Teeth have stepped up their game big time. No longer restricting themselves to basic machinima techniq...
You can only hear the sound effects from Super Mario Bros. so many times over the years before they start to grate on your very soul. As such, this new Nintendo-themed remix by Reverse Enginears wasn't winning me over with i...
