Original Max Payne coming to mobile devices very soon photo

How soon? In the "next couple months" soon.

Originally revealed last September, the first Max Payne game will be hitting iOS and (presumably) Android devices soon much like the original re-release of Grand Theft Auto III. Based on the news when Max Payne mobile was originally announced, we can expect HD textures, customizable controls, Rockstar Games Social Club integration and even controller support.

Rockstar will have an official announcement soon confirming the release date and other details. The news comes from the recent Q & A released today about Max Payne 3 which contains all sorts of juicy info.

That's incredible! I would have never thought 10 years ago that we would be able to play a game like Max Payne on a mobile device. It makes me very happy for the future of video games :)

I loved this game, it was actually difficult on it's hardest difficulty setting and threw tons of enemies at you.

If it's anything like the actual game, you'll need a controller. Max Payne was reasonably fucking difficult from what I recall, though the inaccurate aiming probably helped with that. I know it wasn't an issue in the sequel, and that made it a lot easier...

@StealthMaster
I think the untouched versions of Max Payne 1 and 2 are avaliable on the XBLA.

I still have the original Xbox games of both Max Payne & Max Payne 2 and they both work on the 360 so I'm good. I must have beaten both games 10 times each. I cannot wait for 3!!

This is epic! My favorite game on my iPhone? Now get it out on Xbox live and I'll buy both ports!

Awesome news! GTA3 runs amazingly with the Xperia Play's gamepad, so this will be pretty spectacular, too. It would be nice if Rockstar ported every ps2-era game to Android; I'd love to have Vice City and San Andreas, too.
