I'm sorry, but "We" shouldn't have to petition for a Zelda game to be released…not from Nintendo. For any company in business that should be a given. The only thing to decide afterwords is…"the date" and "which one".

I've gotten into the habit of loading up "Yakkety Sax" every time I read an article about Operation Rainfall. Looks like I'm going to have to do the same for Operation Moonfall (great name, by the way).
Honestly, I think this will be done regardless. No one could have started the group and it still probably would have been made. People are acting like this is somehow a sign of Nintendo's incompetence, even though it really is just a bunch of fans trying to make it officially heard that they want the game.
I'd rather that nintendo made a brand new game for its fledgling hand held system rather than another N64 title. I don't need to re-experience the magic of midi soundtracks and rigged polygons. I already did that 10 years ago when it was more acceptable.
Yeah, Ocarina of Time was totally a half-assed port. It wasn't half-assed in the slightest. OoT for 3DS is fucking beautiful and made me experience the magic all over again.
This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Completely ignoring the fact that it's not Wind Waker, which is without a doubt the greatest Zelda game ever made, if not THE greatest game ever made (any other answer is wrong), the fact that fans are wasting their time with this makes me scratch my head. Here's the truth guys: the 3DS hasn't even been out for a year yet. What makes you think Nintendo WON'T release this game somewhere down the line in it's five year life span? What are you afraid the 3DS will become the Game Gear and flat line? It's not like MM is an obscure niche game like The Last Story or Mother 3, or even the more recent Megaman Legends 3 (yes I know Capcom made Megaman and not Nintendo, I'm just using it as an example). This is a ZELDA game we're talking about here, one of Nintendo's biggest properties.

Know what will save a struggling system? Old games. Let's halt those new games. We need more N64 ports!

They should stick to the main problems instead of going after a game like this RIGHT AFTER OOT was just released. This is not good for their cause because it makes them look like they will start whinging after every unreleased game that may or may not be released.
FACT: OOT 3D was just released. MM is already freely available to all English speakers and Americans that want to play it on other platforms.

People here are missing the point. This isn't to give Nintendo the idea and then have them make this instead of a new Zelda game. They already said they would do it if fan interest was high enough. The point of this movement is to show to Nintendo that there is a lot of interest and they should totally go through with it. Plus, assuming they get Grezzo back on board, Nintendo won't even be taking up its own time with this. It's not like they're going to forgo making some new Zelda game and make this instead, and it's not like we're demanding it tomorrow.

@Letter - Except Moonfall doesn't overlap with Rainfall at all and is asking a question Nintendo of JAPAN is curious to have answered. Rainfall is concerned with Nintendo of AMERICA and their seeming unwillingness to release three Wii games.
And as Fuzunga has said, its not like this is even going to eat up NoJ's time that much if they can get Grezzo to do the update.
I have it on VC, but I'd love to have it on 3DS, too. MM is honestly my favorite Zelda ever so I'm all for Nintendo making it happen.

Maybe I'm part of the problem, but I really want to be able to play those old games while riding the bus.

Don't get me wrong, it'd be cool to see Majora's Mask remastered, but doesn't the 3DS have enough ports/remasters now? Ocarina, Star Fox 64, Metal Gear 3 (whoops, probably cancelled). I'd rather people petition for Rainfall or for getting Mega Man Legends 3 sorted out, or y'know, petition for some new games!!! If I didn't have a PS3 backlog to get through I'd be tearing out my pubes in frustration for the lack of games on Wii (and 3DS if I owned one). Nintendo & 3rd parties - where's the games? If you release them, we will buy.

People, wake up. This is only a PR stunt... They will release a new Zelda remake if they think they will get money out of it (which most likely will, since most of the assets are reused from Ocarina of Time, the best selling game in their underperforming new handheld); and if they don't think so, they will wash their underwear in the river the fans will cry to them.

um considering the amount of remakes already making their way to the console this doesnt seem as far fetched as a hardcore niche market games
