Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising gets DLC and patch photo

Most likely unbeknown to most there are actually two really good multiplayer modern war games out right now. The first you've probably heard of and the second is Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Coming out within a few months of that other game might not have been the wisest move, but those who have played OF:DR know that it actually has some awesome gameplay and a very solid community. That community can now dive into two new multiplayer modes and a patch.

The two new gameplay modes give the open-world battles new objectives. The first is "Blindside," which challenges a team of attackers to complete three missions in a given time period while a team of defenders attempts to stop them. Two of the missions can be completed in any order, but the third only opens once the first two are completed.

The second new mode is "Supremacy," which tasks teams with holding down certain areas of the game for points. The longer you hold on the more points you get. Each area also gives you special tactical advantages if you hold on to them for long enough.

The DLC and patch also includes a few tweaks here and there and a few new vehicle features. It can all be downloaded for free over at Codemasters site.

Maybe they can make the game not suck? I have no idea why they even released this game, it's not OF and it's not a mainstream tactical shooter. And both have their own, different, fanbase so what was the point of mainstreaming OF again?

You know what every realistic military simulators need? Hundreds of people to simulate actual tactical battles instead of skirmishes. You'd think by now that game developers would increase the player cap on a server.

The game also allowed you to be shot multiple times, and then be healed to full health (!!!) by a medic within seconds. Tactical shooter my ass.

@Chrono Logic - well, from what I know ARMA and ARMA II don't have any caps.

I actually really wanted to get this game. But having already spent almost 400 bucks this season on games, well, I just couldn't swing it.

bullsit. i've played the demo and thought it was pretty good, but apparently, many aspects of the campaign and multiplayer are flat out broken.

this sounds like a codemasters press release. have a gander over to the of:dr forum and see how many people are bitching about the pc, xbox and ps3 versions.

I actually paid for this game and was given a shitty, unfinished project in return. Horrible AI with eagle eye vision that lets them see up to 2km away, lame weapons despite the "ultra-realism", boring as fuck environments with absolutely no vistas, absolutely no characterization, slow movement speed, objectives consisting of "walk 10 miles and press a button", thats not even mentioning the plethora of bugs that plague this game. I could go on.

Worst purchase of the last few years for me. I would NEVER usually endorse piracy, but if you want to try this game, don't pay for it. It's a big fucking waste of money. Pirate the shit out of it if you still want to play it, because you can play online with the pirated version; there are no key checks.

As hacked and broken as MW2 can be, it doesn't even come close to the mess of code Codemasters put out. Shots Fired is a terrible game.

I was watching an episode of Lie to Me where a dude was accused of sexually assaulting a minor, so the main character (can't remember his name) interrogates him and shows him pictures of women who APPEAR to be under age (small breasts, young face, etc.) and watched his responses. He felt guilt because he thought they were under age, when most of them were in their early-mid twenties.
