Here's a second chance to check out R.U.S.E. for those who missed out on the closed beta: next week, anyone with a Steam account can take part in the PC strategy game. According to a tweet by Ubisoft community developer Aymeric Evennou, March 9 is the official start date.
It seems Eugen Systems took much of the player feedback it received to heart; this video with senior producer Mathieu Girard states all of the various additions, tweaks, and fixes that have been made to the game. It's nearly a five-minute video -- enough said.
I'd be all over this myself, but alas, my beloved eMachines system is ancient, and my relatively newish laptop isn't one of those bulky gaming machines (basically, it is an actual laptop). It's okay, though -- my PC has one of those Grand Theft Auto IV Burger Shot stickers on its side, so I don't mind.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Wow. As a long time RTS fan I'm very impressed with the transparency of the developers with their pre-launch changes to the game. I've been casually following R.U.S.E since it's announcement, but the news of an open beta has gotten me excited.
UNFORTUNATELY
The whole Ubisoft DRM fiasco is really pissing me off. I'll be trying the open beta, but since it's not Starcraft or CoH 2, I won't be getting it unless Ubisoft kicks out the DRM altogether. It's bad enough that E.A is charging cheaper for it's games with minimal DRM; and with the fear of not being able to play a game on my own terms, Ubisoft can go rape itself. Hard.
