Electronic Entertainment Expo 2009 is sure to have plenty of shock, awe, and babes. One thing it will lack, however, is a bit of head scratching. Warner Bros.’ OnLive service -- a cloud-computed videogame delivery service -- will not be shown at E3 this year.
And, no, it’s not because of swine flu. Or nerd stink. According to OnLive executive Mike McGarvey, the reason is that E3 doesn’t work for what OnLive is.
“More than anything, E3 is a retail-oriented conference, both for retail platforms and retail publishers, and OnLive is neither,” McGarvey wrote on the OnLive blog.
Bummer. I was looking forward to giving some blank stares and nodding my head for show while being told how the technology behind OnLive works.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Erm, nevermind.

OnLive does what Nintendon't.
Whenever someone says they don't want to show up to E3 aside from leaving the ESA, their product should really come under question. See: 3D Realms. Sorry.
...
Right. Good slam on the entire gaming industry who might be interested in putting their content on your service. You know, since the publishers who actually attend this conference DO show their content off and would walk by your booth, see your product and sign up to publish for your service.
I'm sure they wouldn't be interested in seeing your product at all.
I can't wait to play me some "Snake", "Ski", or "Sol.exe" on OnLive.
That'll be the hot shit we've been waiting for, for years.
