Charge 50 bucks for the online, for all I care, I'm playing it for the single player and nothing more. You know, the part the series is based around, the reason this is the 3rd one in a series?
A game that withholds single-player AND multiplayer content from people that buy used! All should bow down and genuflect before EA, prove your loyalty and they will give you everything the game should have come with either way!
Seriously, fuck EA.
Rocksteady told they had to fight tooth and nail with the publisher to not put multiplayer in Arkham Asylum. I'm glad those dudes knew what's up - and that they won.
WOW, U R SOOO RONG! EVRYONE PLAYS MASS AFFECT FOR THE TITTY COMBAT! SINGLE PLAYER IS FOR LOSERS, MULTIPLAYER WILL MAKE THE GAME AMAZING! XBOX 360 WILL DOMINATE IN SALES BECAUSE THIS GAME IS MADE FOR IT AND NOT THAT STUPID $ONY CRAP. YOU ARE SO STUPID THINKING THIS WAS MEANT FOR SINGLE PLAYER. ROLF. NUFF SAYD!

Really guys, get over it.
The best part is that this will be the first instance of video game prostitution.
Keep fighting the good fight, you're doing great work. Glad to have you as a fellow consumer.
I *was* going to buy it new... now I think I'm going to go buy it used. I'm not going to use their stupid multiplayer anyway.
Ever since EA claimed the rights to the franchise they're milking it in any way possible. Novels, comics, sequels, DLCs, overpriced shirts, avatar accessories, etc.
also people complaining about these passes. just wait a month for the game to go down in price . then by it new for 40$ with the pass.
instead of waiting to buy it used for the same 40$ with no pass.
Keep fighting the good fight, you're doing great work. Glad to have you as a fellow consumer.
With Mass Effect 3, I have no idea if the tacked-on co-op mode will be any good. History points towards crappy, but I like to give things a fair shake before judging them. We'll have to see about it. I lean towards buying new because I love how the CE looks, and I am a fan of the Mass Effect series with my female Infiltrator Shepard kicking ass.
It sucks, but I had a feeling this would happen. I really hate the principle of holding a common game mode hostage for no good reason other than "lawl more money". If anything the co-op will suck and I'll give away my code for free. Like Uncharted the campaign is what I enjoy the most about ME3.
So I have ME3 pre-ordered already, and I don't know if I want to get it new now. This is a special case since I love this series and played it since it first came out. I'm disappointed in Bioware, and I think I'll be done with this company after this game. I just hope Mass Effect 3 isn't another Dragon Age 2. That would be a bigger blow than the online pass.
Let's all go read books instead. And grow our own vegetables, raise our own meat, and fabricate all of our clothes. That will show everyone not to do (fill in the blank) anymore, and we will change the world.
And, redeemer, answer me this. If I trade in ME3 with an in-tact online code, I'm actually royally screwing up EA's plans. If anything you should encourage people to buy it new, then give the code away to someone who buys it used. That's likely what I'll be doing. Did it with Homefront, too. And Mortal Kombat.
B) Despite you trying to make a big deal out of this, see letter A).
Mass Effect 2 has an Online Pass and no one gave a fuck. Thus, See Letter A.
I'm hoping to Christ that Bioware prove me wrong.
A) You invalidate this point by caring enough to post.
B) Despite you trying not to make a big deal out of this, see letter A).
Not to mention, you're like thirty-seven posts into a thread. Quite a few comments for a thing nobody cares about. Thus, see letter A.
This was done entirely for profit.
PC CD keys are an ancient relic that we had just recently evolved beyond (thanks to digital distributors like Steam). Online pass keycodes are a regression to worse times. You can't justify an injustice today just because it used to be accepted in the past.
@RenegadePanda
"Yeah, because all of you people boycotting the online pass for the last few years have really made a tremendous difference in the industry."
We haven't because we're still an extreme minority. If more people would man up and stop taking it up the ass and voice opposition, we'd stand more of a chance.
"If anything you should encourage people to buy it new, then give the code away to someone who buys it used. That's likely what I'll be doing."
It's not a terrible idea, but my beef is you're still supporting EA by buying new in the first place.
