Competitive multiplayer in Resident Evil 5? Uh, how? Honestly, the logistics of the whole thing are completely beyond my understanding, but apparently it's going to happen eventually.
Capcom has given us a glimpse (whether on purpose or not is up for debate) of RE5's downloadable content future, and it's looking very focused on multiplayer. Specifically, the modes Slayers, Survivors, Team Slayers, Team Survivors, and Versus were revealed through Trophies for the PlayStation 3 version of the game.
You can check out the Trophies after the break, and join me in wondering how exactly this is going to work. I simply can't envision it yet. Perhaps some concrete info and/or pictures might help me along, Capcom?

Go and stop shooting action in multiplayer games.....No thanks.

Especially for a high profile game. RE5 has been in the works for years and it's one of the flagship titles for Capcom.
That's BS for game modes to be left off of the disc like this.

I could be wrong but they have not said it was going to be free or cost you.
It's one thing to choose to not have multiplayer in it from the start. But if they decided they wanted multiplayer and even included trophies and stuff, then they should have been able to get it on the disc itself.
If this costs anything at all then a) I won't buy it and (b) There will be an almighty shitstorm, which surely even Capcom couldn't ride out without massive damage.
For example, before Killzone 2 was released. Many of us here were happily criticizing the title (myself included to some degree) perhaps more than it rightfully deserved. When it was released not too long ago it seems most of us derived a relatively satisfactory experience from the game itself and negative comments (on this site anyway) seemed to drop off significantly.
It now seems many of us have now turned our spiteful gazes on RE5. Hey, Killzone 2 really brought nothing new to the table and most of us seem to be getting on with it pretty well and the same can probably be said about RE. All I'm saying is. Let's perhaps ease off a bit on what the game may or may not be lacking and try to pay more attention to the positive additions this title has to offer us.
I for one cannot wait until this friday.
I guess we'll see when it comes out, provided I like RE5 enough to keep it.
The control scheme was fine when it was not a 3rd person action game. You change the type of game you are playing you have to change the controls with it. It used to be a survival horror game that used the camera to it's advantage and limited ammo so half the time you were running anyways. From the reviews i read ammo is pretty plentiful in this game turning it into an action game.
You have a point there and I agree with you somewhat. However, before I played the demo I always assumed for the past few years that RE5 was simply going to be RE4 in daytime. I was comfortable with RE4 and from what I've played so far RE5 plays almost exactly the same. My conclusion is the core game is the same, the scenario that the game takes place in is the only thing that is different with some minor functional and cosmetic additions to the gameplay. All in all, it seems to me that those that were waiting for this new RE were just waiting for more RE4 and most of us will be satisfied with that.
However, if you're right and Capcom has ended up turning the 3rd person action nob up a few settings too high I agree this may pose a problem that is detrimental to the overall experience. But from what I've seen and played so far I don't think this will be the case and fans of the kind of survival horror that the last RE brought to the table will be most pleased.
Although I do agree with you in some regard and lightly share some of your concerns. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see when tommorow comes around in order to find out whether or not all the criticism is justified.
1. He says it will be about a 75 percent chance that the DLC will include the ability to move and shoot + to move and knife. wether or not its for all modes is still unknown.
2. the reason for the lateness of this was so capcom could focus more on the campaign first and its replayability + the mercs mode(its fun to me and everyone else that play it).
3. Slayers= ffa(free for all), Team slayers= 1v1 teams, Team survivors= majini versus (military or somethin)?, versus= all people in mercs vers each other.
4. it will cost money but its only five dollars. dont get it right away if you are skeptical, just wait and see how it turns out.
